Satanic "religion"

Now, Satanism on the other hand, seems to be about ideals and lifestyles and other such things! That's a religion to go for if you ask me.

What makes it better to Christianity? Just remember, as there are different branches to Christianity Im sure the same goes for Satanism.

I completely disagree with satanism - it's a completely selfish religion - all about "indulging yourself" or doing "whatever you want to feel good"...

Meh, I'll just copy + paste my argument on page one.

I Satan represents indulgence, instead of abstinence!

There could also be a happy medium between two extremes. What are they comparing to and what are they indulging/not abstaining from? Surely juxtaposing their beliefs by another extreme will make theirs look more reasonable - but when comparing it to "a healthy line inbetween indulgence and abistence", it doesn't look too appealing...

II Satan represents vital existence, instead of spiritual pipe dreams!

I'm not sure what they mean by this... but I'm not big on the "spiritual pipe dream" term, it's a very loaded term designed to make spirituality (or traditionally so) look bad, and without proof, I dislike this phrase

III Satan represents undefiled wisdom, instead of hypocritical self-deceit!

Again, loaded terms aren't logically sound without proof

IV Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it, instead of love wasted on ingrates!

Meh, I guess you can do what you want, but I'm sure that those that "deserve" it, are all subject to one's opinion of whether or not kindness is "deserved". Surely it would be more loving to be kind to all beings?

V Satan represents vengeance, instead of turning the other cheek!

Again, see above. Vengeance is never (maybe not never, but very rarely) the best solution to a problem. Why not rather be wronged? Why not turn the other cheek? I know it's a foreign concept to today's world, but it's not about always "winning" or "getting the best" of someone. Selflessness is IMO always better received by people than selfishness, but again, if you want to embrace selfishness, more power to you I guess

VI Satan represents responsibility to the responsible, instead of concern for psychic vampires!

I couldn't tell you what this means...

VII Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all fours, who, because of his "divine spiritual and intellectual development", has become the most vicious animal of all!

Sometimes better, sometimes worse. Can't really agree or disagree with that. Neutrality... :P

VIII Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification!

Of course, if you want your life to be about self-gratification go for it, just don't expect it to improve anyone else's life. Not that you're obligated to of course, but improving someone else's life certainly isn't a bad thing ;) And I'm not even saying that following this rules that out, it's just probably a little harder to help someone when having a selfish mindset. And I'm not talking about selfish in a negative sense - just talking about it as self-servitude, considering oneself before others - it just makes it a little harder to serve others. And again, you're not obligated to, but, people wouldn't complain if you did serve them I guess ;)

IX Satan is the best friend the church has ever had, as he has kept it in business all these years!

This seems unbased, controversial, illogical, and un-understandable :P

*shrugs*

Oddly enough this has become not a fight between stanism and christianity but a fight between the faithful and the faithless.

So lets get back on topic, A flame war is bad enough, a flame war that isn't even related to the topic is much worse.

As for satanism I hate it, It seems to be a selfish religon where as christianity is one that serves others. Also Satanism seems to avoid the concept of life after death (I wonder why...) Where as it is important to christain beliefs... Oddly enough true christains (such as myself) tend not to fear death but do not seek death (nothing could ever make me suicidal, ever).
