Sentry_Wolf
Hello, After finished my Agility goal, I am moving onto my Mining goal of 100k coal, but i'm stuck inbetween two choices. Sacred Pickaxe or Rune Pickaxe. With the new update, (double the XP) I would get 97 mining with 100k coal, and only 91 mining if I stuck with rune. They are the same speed, and you can get up to 400 xp a rock from mining coal if you have varrock amour. Problem is, getting the tools. It took me an hour to get 5 tools, and the pickaxe dosen't crumble until after a few loads. Question I am asking, is it worth it to spend the extra time at SC to gather the points for the tools? Or will I just stick with a rune pickaxe? Which in the long run, would be easier to 99? Thanks if you can help. -Sentry.
awesome400
i highly doubt that it takes longer to get enuf picks to mine coal then mining 100k coal... 1100 total achieved 03/02/09 880thousandth to reach it :P1200 total achieved 29/09/11 1.23millionth to reach it :P
Master_Smither
This can easily be done yourself. Since I don't know the new point system I can't realy say 100%. But you can see howlong 1 pickaxe lasts and see how long it takes to get enough points for 1 pickaxe. If in the time it lasts plus the time it takes you get double the coal than you did with the time it lasts then it's not worth it. So like lets say it lasts 4 loads (112 coal) and in a regular game (20 minutes) you get 2 pickaxes or so. So in that 25-30 minutes you got 112 coal and a potentional for 224 coal. So if you can get 672 coal in that 25-30 minutes with a rune pick it is not worth it. I hope I made sense because it does to me  Click for My Blog670th to 99 Smithing July 21st, 07 |743rd to 99 Mining November 29th, 07 | 649th to 99 Runecrafting May 18th, 08 | 29,050th to 99 Defence October 20th, 08 | 20,700th to 99 Magic November 8, 08 | 47,938th to 99 Attack December 19, 08 | 37,829th to 99 Hitpoints December 24, 08 | 68,604th to 99 Strength February 4, 09 | 27,983rd to 99 Range February 9, 09 | 9,725th to 99 Prayer June 8, 09 | 6,620th to 99 Slayer December, 12 09 | 4,075th to 99 Summoning December, 28 09 | 3,551th to 99 Herblore February 24, 10 | 3,192th to 99 Dungeoneering November 11, 10 | 146,600th to 99 Cooking December 29th, 10 | 11,333rd to 99 Construction June 7th, 11 | 16,648th to 99 Farming August 1st, 11 | 19,993th to 99 Crafting August 2nd, 11 | 89,739th to 99 Woodcutting Janurary 1st, 12 | 55,424th to 99 Fishing May 9th, 12| 60,648th to 99 Firemaking May 12th, 12 | 16666th to 99 Agility May 17th, 2012 | 24476th to 99 Hunter June 1st, 2012 | 57,881st to 99 Fletching June 1st, 2012 | All 99s June 1st, 2012 | 3183th to 120 Dungeoneering July 24th, 2012 | 2341st to 2496 Total level July 24th, 2012 | Completionist Cape July 24th, 2012
ladycai
In the long run, a sacred pick would give you more xp per yield, while a rune pick would give normal experience; I get that you're looking for the fastest way, not the cheapest way; I would swap between the two, use a sacred pickaxe for a while, and then back to rune if you don't feel like taking a break; if you do, then go back over to Stealing Creation and get yourself another one! O= 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]
Sir_Redhead
I have noticed that the sacred pic is slower. At least, it appears to me that it is. Gained first quest cape on 3/22/09! Gained 99 fishing 5/22/09!I forgot when I got 99 cooking!Proud member of Jovial Rovers
