I'm pretty sure the situation in Egypt is made worse by civilian inaccessibility to firearms. There's a reason why assault rifles are less favoured than handguns, you can't hide an assault rifle in your pants. The important thing is that the story is a fictional supposition which is additionally simply not true on an overall statistical basis - guns improve safety more then they harm it. Statistically speaking, having a pool in the back yard is 9 times more dangerous then a gun on the nightstand. Statistically speaking, a pool has a purpose other than killing. So do guns. 9/10'ths of the firearms I own, are used for sports. Trap, Skeet, Action Pistol, etc... Living in the middle of nowhere, if someone breaks into my house or I hear a noise in the middle of the night that shouldn't be there (Something smashing), you bet your cabbage I'll have a gun in my hand checking it out. (More likely to be a baseball bat, which I have in my closet). Will I pull the trigger on my .45 the moment I hear a sound? No. Will I pull the trigger if I see someone? No. I'll shout things like "Who the cabbage are you!?!? Get the cabbage out of my house!" If there is another human on the other end of my sights, there is a consequence to pulling the trigger. Unless the life of my family, or myself is in direct danger, I wouldn't even think of shooting.

Amen. That's exactly how I was raised.

That's the problem with the "half-ass" approach - it does nothing to restrict criminals but it does end up restricting responsible users like yourself. That's why firm, realistic controls are needed - because then they will restrict criminals. You're obviously a conscientious person who's well educated in the use of firearms and uses them responsibly, I'm sure. The bottom line is that not everyone is like that; and when firearms are so readily available, a lot of people who shouldn't have them get them, easily. Living in northern N.Y makes me thing even worse for me. Most of our political system is based out of NYC (Which has a population 80 times higher than my entire county), where people are scared of any sort of firearm. So everyone shouts "Ban guns, they kill people!" and "Ban hunting! It's wrong!" When people like myself use firearms responsibly, more or less for sport. We may hunt for fun, not the "Shoot everything in sight" kind of fun, but the "I can't wait to get that 8-point buck, and I love the taste of Venison (Which is delicious)" There's always an issue with the laws, there always will be. Stricter laws may slow down the criminal, but it won't stop them. The main issue with strict laws, is the responsible firearm owners are slowed down, if not stopped completely. There will never be a simple mediation, which is disappointing.

As an avid gun owner, and a frequent user of them, the laws that are getting passed are hurting safe users like myself. I shoot trap, skeet, action pistol, Steel challenges, and hunt. I see a lot of people posting about Americans like myself being "crazy gun owning killing machines". Which is completely false. Everything I own is legal and registered. I take great care of them, and use them all frequently. Most crimes are committed using knives (Muggings, Robbery's, etc...) You can look up the statistics yourself. The ones committed with a firearm are often firearms that were not purchased legally, are not registered, etc... So the laws that are passed, hurt safe gun owners like myself, and do nothing to remotely slow down the criminal. If guns kill people, pencils misspell words, cars drive drunk, and spoons make people fat. I find a firearm an extension of myself. I find it safer to use a firearm at a range then walk down the road, or even ride my bike 20ft down the road. Does that make me a murderer? No. Does that make a bad person? No. I'm not saying you have to like guns, or even look at one. I just ask that people look at things and try to understand what the ones following the laws, like myself, have to deal with.

I went to my POH and started making teletabs. While this isn't reccomended for really large amounts of experience, it's simple.

Yep. I have two big ones. 1.People who bash Americans when they know little to nothing about us, at all. 2.People who generalize something they see in the media, and assume EVERYONE is like that, when they aren't. You obviously know nothing about Americans. Don't assume things about people you know nothing about.

I don't think it's right at all. I understand not all Muslims are radical psychopaths, but it's affiliated with the 9/11 hijackers. With that said, it's morally wrong. The family's of those lost in 9/11 have had enough pain to deal with, this is just another slap in the face to them. It's not right. I understand there's Freedom of Religion coming into play here, but to me, it shouldn't be allowed for a comparison with the limitations of Freedom of Speech. (Ex. Shouting "FIRE!!!" in a crowded Movie Theatre, or "BOMB!!!" in an airport) It's just wrong.

Glad this is back. I enjoyed it the first time. Puzzles aren't too hard, but they make you think a little.

Things your Parents made you do when you were a kid

I consider myself slightly lucky. I've lived with my grandparents all my life, and they never really "forced" me to do anything. Maybe it's just a grandparent thing. -
Re-uploading as we speak. For some reason, all my images I had saved are gone. Luckily, they are still on the computer, they will be up momentarily.

*pictures fixed* I've had this problem for a while, but didn't really know what to think of it. What's happening, is that whenever the G.E updates, the colour remains blank. It will not turn yellow, green, or red to show it's status. This is what I see. This is what I am playing it on. Any ideas on how I can simply get the colours to show back up? (They will show on regular detail, but I'm staying on HD, as I experience absolutely 0 lag on it.)

And he wants to nuke America on July 4... Seriously how could he be any more idiotic? On July 4, the sky is practically lit up with fireworks. People will just see the explosion and go "OOoooh... Ahhhh" Anyway, he is insane. MAD can be useless when a small nation gets slammed with an Armada of ICBMs, destroying the country AND the arsenal. Plus, the US has a missile defense shield... If he just makes threats, the US government could just prepare ahead of time and stop it if it does happen. If he didn't announce it and did it, they would at least have the element of surprise... You would have to be stupid not be able to tell the difference between pretty multi-coloured sparks, to a gigantic mushroom cloud, everything being destroyed around it, shockwaves, radiation....oh, and your face being melted off -.- -
North Korea has recently announced a threat to send an intercontinental ballistic missile at Hawaii. What do you think of this newest threat? http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blog ... awaii.aspx

I'm a hunter myself, so killing small animals such as rabbits doesn't bother me. Except I do strongly beleive what you did was wrong, the main thing is that they were only babies, and you ran one over, and kicked the hell out of another. That's messed up on many levels.

Any pillow that I could consider "soft". I won't sleep on the ones that are heavy and thick, feels like your sleeping on a moldable rock more than a pillow. I actually use two very thin down pillows :)

Reminds me of the stress reduction kit.....anyways... I have no worries about running out of ammo, I recently found 2.4k .22 rounds in my closet \ A .22 will work just fine for me. I love that revolver btw.

I'm not sure if you can tell, but I'm the redhead  Anyways, this is my girlfriend Kyle and I at Relay for Life 2009 up where I live. Pic was taken at three in the morning, so we were super tired  My cheeks are a bit swollen from a surgery I had, but it's not so bad in the picture.

Zombies don't just die of cold. Or else all we would have to do is survive until winter. I do think a slightly more thought out plan would work much better.
-
No idea to be honest, I'll either keep this, or make something new that still has to do with me being a redhead

Lol zombie hampsters. That is hilarous. And I believe I can officially say that dreaded phrase; Why.... that's so crazy... it just might work! :twss: The only problem I see with it is obtaining zombies which aren't too damaged. Well I mean define damaged. If it can run, itl work. the only thing would be getting the bugger to move at a constant rate. That is one of the advantages of a zombie; it will keep going and going at as high a rate of speed as possible (admittedly slow, but still) until there's literally nothing left to go with as long as you dangle food in front of it. It's why they're such a pain in the [wagon] when it comes to defense and escape. Oh, and it shouldn't be too hard to get them; find a few isolated zombies (alternatively, spear and clear a few from your defenses if you're under siege) and store them in a cattle car or something similar until ready for transit. Then tie them up with your kickass lasso skills and maneuver them wherever. Anti-bite equipment is required for all people involved in this. Sound good? *cracks knuckles* Anyone up for hog tieing them?
