Things your Parents made you do when you were a kid

When we were kids, we were probably all made to do something that we did not want to, as our parents thought it would help us...

So, what did your parents make you do when you were young?

When I was young, I had to take singing, and piano lessons... <_<

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

I still have a few of the books to remind me of the sore hands I had as a child.
  • Kneel in front of a miniature Buddha statue and pull at my ears as hard as I could when I had been naughty.

Go to Punjabi school on Sundays. Me and my bro effing loathed this and my sister didn't even have to go ):

Nothing else. My parents didn't care much for extra curricular activities. They didn't even encourage reading or any [cabbage] like that, explains why my sister is so [developmentally delayed]ed.

Does that count as child abuse?

Bloody hell!

St. John's Ambulance. In the end I simply refused to go anymore.

Haha, my folks made me do that too... I did enjoy it, but it was kind of a waste being one of the like 8 people who went :P

My parents never really made me do anything i didn't like... But im sure if i think there were really lame things they made me do once or twice which i hated.

My parents made me join the swim team and take piano lessons. They bribed me with stuffed animals XD My mom also made me go to church every sunday up until I was 18. At that point I was finally able to convince her to take me out to breakfast instead (most days).

Going to karate regularly, even when I didn't feel like it.

Learning to ride a bike. (I became very stubborn about this after I rammed into a rock.)

All in all, I'm glad they forced me to do these things.

The only difference between Hitler and the man next door who comes home and beats his kids every day is circumstance. The intent is the same-- to harm others.

[hide=Tifers say the darndest things]

I told her there was a secret method to doing it - and there is - but my once nimble and agile fingers were unable to perform because I was under the influence.

I would laugh, not hate. I'm a male. :(

Since when was Ireland an island...? :wall:

I actually have a hobby of licking public toilet seats.

The only thing I can think of that my parents really forced me to do was go to church. I don't really regret it or anything, but I'm pretty sure I didn't find it all that exciting when I was little.

Yep, I chose to take piano lessons. Yep, I chose to do math in my free time. Yep, I think I chose to play soccer and baseball. Actually...maybe not. Probably not. My parents probably thought I would end up being some nerd staying at home all day, so they signed me up for some sports. Awesome how that turned out...

Church is probably the one I remember. Meh, I might have been able to fight it as a kid but I really didn't feel like it. Plus if I objected they would think I was just lazy, even though I never really cared about religion much even as a child. Luckily my parents didn't go to church too much themselves, so except for like one year where we sort of had a "stint" of churchgoing it was mostly limited to holidays.

They mostly made me go to church, but my mom made me take ballet lessons and cake decorating classes. The ballet was horrible, I was the only boy in there and it was really embarrassing but eventually my mom took me out of the class. I went into the cake decorating class with my mom and I didn't like it at first but I got pretty good at decorating, I'm actually making a cake for my friends birthday tonight.

I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"

Church. Boy that did backfire on my mum after a while. School was a no-brainer "must go" but I didn't really mind since it wasn't horrible going to school; I could socialize with my mates at least

Go to church when I was really young, but not as I got older, and not now.

My parents really never made me do anything other than school obviously. I guess they made me do chores and stuff, but like all kids have to do that, right?

Guitar lessons and *shudders* bible club.

Guitar lessons isn't actually that bad, can be very beneficial  but I agree with you on the bible club. Glad my parents never made me do something like that.

C.C.D...my dad didn't really care, but my mom insisted my siblings and I went. I think it's revenge for her parents making her go to a religious elementary school.
