My parents did as little as possible to interfere with my life, and I can never thank them enough for it.

La lune ne garde aucune rancune.

Catholic Christian Doctrine. Basically, 2 hours of religious teachings every wednesday. -_-

So that's what that stands for.

Same thing here. My school keeps promoting some thing like "your parents need to be interactive and involved deeply with your life". [cabbage], I love that they don't interfere with mostly anything. At most, they'll ask like "How are your grades?" or "you got a girlfriend?" once every few months. It isn't that they dont care, its that they let me do my own thing and they do theirs.

Although i took piano lessons by choice, but then quit cause i hated piano. as much as i would love to be good, i suck at it :(

My parents still make me do [cabbage].

I quit St John's Ambulance the week after I won Cadet Of The Year haha, hated every minute of it and the uniform was scratchy.

Other than that they haven't interfered and, like Lateralus, I can't thank them enough for it.

What on earth is "St. John's Ambulance"? That just sounds weird.

It's a generic first aid course.

Pronouncing stuff properly like the 't' in later is something they do, and have done all my life. Apart from that not much, my parents know it's best not to interfere with me, since I'm now a teenaget

I was pretty lucky in that other than being made to go to school, I was not really made to do anything I did not want to.

You guys are acting like music lessons were a bad thing! I would love to have singing or piano lessons right now :(

They made me not play video games during weekdays. That sucked the most around middleschool. I also had to play baseball and basketball every year through elementary school, then I chose to play basketball through the rest of middleschool.

Yeah same here, I would have loved to be able to play the guitar or piano or violin.

All I learned was the flipping recorder.

Well everyone is different ;) If someone doesn't want them, it can be a bad thing for that person.

Going to Church. I still have to go every Sunday. And I don't even believe in God (though they don't want to believe that). And swimming.

The only one of those two I found beneficial was swimming. I'm pretty good in the pool :). I still occasionally go to the local pool and do a few laps, though not as frequently as I used to. A shame :(

I had to do piano lessons, too. I didn't really like it at all.

Imagine if I learned how to play hockey during that time

Oh yeah, my parents made me take swimming lessons. Not so much made me, I love swimming. Probably one of my favorite things to do. I don't get to swim much at all anymore.

Go to Church.

But I totally caused trouble there, haha. (When I was like 10-ish)

You can come over to my house, I have a pool.

Good luck getting here.

Swimming lessons as a kid, which pretty much all kids have do where I live, there is a big emphasis on water safety cos NZ is surrounded by ocean, and has so many rivers and lakes... Never had to go to church or anything... um other than that I can't think of anything. I was never pushed into anything, my parents just supported me in whatever I wanted to do

music school when i was 1,5-2 years haha my mother said i always cried

I was forced into a football team for a year, and i was only let on our computer on weekends.

Also my dad took me swimming every sunday. I did engoy swimming before, but the forcing made me lose all taste for it, so i haven't swimmed for years now.

This'll give you a look to what extent my parents "interfere" with my life.

We were watching the Lion King, [nay' 3 hourse ago] and during the "Be Prepared" song with Scar talking all verbose and looking nasty, my dad said --

"Dont cross over. Dont become like him" [sic]

I [cabbage] you not. And he was not joking. He does this whenever we interact. Generally with everything.

He'll repeat corny movie lines to try and motivate me. I remember in Rambo 4 - the "live for nothing, die for something" - he somehow related that back to my studies. :wall:

I sincerely feel sorry for you.

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.
So, what is 1.111... equal to?

Please don't continue.
