October 13, 200916 yr My mom made me take karate lessons a few years back, and paid for a year. It was a huge ripoff and it was the most useless thing ever. In a fight with someone who has taken these lessons vs myself, You can do all the flashy moves you want, I'm just going to beat your skull in with a wrench. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anEuw8F8cpE Get back here so I can rub your butt.

Ohhhh. That reminds me, I used to go to Kung Fu lessons. It was fun, more of stamina work that actual fighting. I stopped after ten lessons, can't remember why :\. ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢
October 13, 200916 yr Parents took me to church with them when i was younger, from like age 7-12 or something, didn't really think much of it. I'm not particularly religious and neither are they. October 13, 200916 yr I was forced to go to: swimming, church, piano and camp. At least those are the ones that stick out in my mind. I didn't mind swimming and piano, but I disliked going to church and camp. Church was boring because I had to listen to the minister preach for 2 hours, and I couldn't even play my GameBoy to pass the time Camp wasn't nearly as bad, but I just hated being away from home (I was a big crybaby back then). I specifically remember one camp day when the leaders yelled at my cabin group because we forgot to set up the dishes for lunch, and we had to go on garbage duty for the remainder of the day picking up every piece of garbage we found. Another time was when I was in a canoe with two of my friends, and they started rocking the boat saying they wanted to go overboard. Now being the wimp I was, I started crying my eyes out and yelling at the top of my lungs to get them to stop. I haven't been canoeing since then... October 14, 200916 yr Nothing really in particular... My parents don't even make me do chores. I'm quite thankful for that. I play violin, viola, and piano, but I chose that on my own. October 14, 200916 yr Swimming lessons? I was thrown into a pool and told to swim. Not joking. Other than that, there wasn't many things I was "Forced" to do. There was the occasional church visit, but my parent(s) hates church almost as much as I do  Learning to read was a horrific experience; my dad was freaking out because I couldn't read "Hop on Pop" correctly. Won't go into details, but I absolutely hated, even though it kind of needed to be done :-|
October 16, 200916 yr Not a ton. Farm chores, but I've always liked manual labor. If I'm feeling particularly lazy or bummed, I'll dread doing anything with my hands besides moving a controller, but once I start, there's just something about it. Especially digging, or fence-mending. Shovels were invented to turn little girly boys into MEN. My calluses usually impress people I just meet, because I don't really look a lot like a farm kid. That's about it, though. My dad's always persuaded me to read, which has ended up helping me a lot school-wise (not as much socially, but I've turned it around), plus I enjoy it. My parents are pretty laid-back, really. Never really went to church, but my family generally has no views on anything Church or Crown. Gotta say, they did their best by doing ... not a lot. I've never had a curfew or anything, but I'm not really into drugs, way less into drinking than my friends, completely off smoking (that's more because they're smokers, though, and it's nasty), whole bunch of stuff. And they've always encouraged me in school, although my mom dropped out and my dad went into the Marines right after high school. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
October 16, 200916 yr I consider myself slightly lucky. I've lived with my grandparents all my life, and they never really "forced" me to do anything. Maybe it's just a grandparent thing. October 17, 200916 yr I don't see why everyone thought getting piano lessons was a bad thing. D: Really, I don't recall ever being forced to do anything.
October 26, 200916 yr Well i took piano lessons and trumpet lessons by my own choice. I've carried that on for 10 years :) I like it and if my parents offered me free singing lessons now, i'd take it any day. They did make me go to a childcare thing after school everyday after school during primary school, play the recorder :@, stop playing games during the end of high school, i had to go to church for christmas and i was more or less forced to do Cricket, football, archery etc for a while. I did voluntarily take up those at first but after afew years it gets boring and i wasn't a natural and telling my parents i wanted to quit an activity doesn't go down well. They said I only wanted to quit to spend more time on RS :S and got in a massive hissy fit. overall i didn't get it sooo bad i think though. Yeah...Some people just go out of their way to ruin other peoples fun.Sounds like Jagex to me...
