November 26, 200916 yr 26-Nov-2009 - Thanksgiving Turkeys and Community Event A problem is brewing in Lumbridge this Thanksgiving. It seems that Phileas, the Lumbridge Sage, has happened upon some rather troubling manuscripts near his home and he needs your help to solve the mysteries they reveal. Solving the clues will prove a tough challenge as you pit your wits against a mysterious clue-setter and his secret network of contacts. Regardless, if you can stay the course and solve the clues over the next four days, youll certainly have proven your detective skills. For those with the steely determination and the requisite clue-solving abilities, a new item and emote will be yours for the claiming. Simply head over to the official Cryptic Clue Fest thread for your first clue and an explanation of what to expect, and then keep checking the thread each day of this holiday weekend (Thursday-Sunday) for subsequent clues. Thats not all this Thanksgiving, though. For anyone whos not yet helped him out, the Lumbridge cooks brother has some turkey-related shenanigans hed like some help with. Either talk to the cooks brother in Lumbridge Castles kitchen or check out this Knowledge Base page for more information. Good luck and happy Thanksgiving! If you're after something else to do between solving clues, our friends over at FunOrb have recently launched a single-player campaign for the RuneScape inspired game Armies of Gielinor. This update is free-to-play for all and comprises of 17 mission of tactical action against some fiendishly clever opposition. Six Achievements are available for you to earn, so head over to FunOrb to try the game and see if you can claim Morytania for the forces of Zamorak. Mod Howes and Mod Mark H RuneScape Community Management and Mod Korpz Head of FunOrb Questions can be found non this thread on the RuneScape Official Forums: 42-43-341-59957404 Explanations (behind the answers)[hide] #1Day one - Using the grid to find out the item, for example if the word was rake (working from left and then to top to complete the word) you'd take a potato. Word for Item 1: Hardly nutritious, but it can be frosted even during summer! Cake - Rope Word for Item 2: Oh my, sounds like a naked grizzly! Bare - Bucket Word for Item 3: A judgement of quality you pass on things and people. Sometimes you do it highly, sometimes rather poorly. Rate - Banana Know what those three items are? Youll want to carry three of the first, two of the second and five of the third, so he knows youre not just a lucky guesser! So that means take 3 ropes, 2 Buckets, 5 Bananas #2Day Two- "Read in between the lines" means drag and drop your mouse to highlight in between the lines for the answers. Explanation 1) "When baking a cake, theres a bucket of one ingredient youll need. Carry two of these.. " "A bucket" of a cake ingredient - A bucket of milk "you'll need two of these" 2) "Youd never catch Herring with empty line, so carry seven of this item to catch your contact." Herring are caught be rod fishing, so 7 Fishing bait. 3) "Ever heard of Roman numerals? Youll need to carry CCXXVII gold coins!" Using roman numerals to determine the amount of gold coins you'll need C = Centum (Century E.g = 100) http://www.novaroma.org/via_romana/numbers.html Once you've tallied all those up you'll come to 227 Coins 4) "The final item is a tool used in creating your dwellings and protecting your body from attack. Hit the nail on the head with four of these." 4 Hammers (smithing tool to make nails) #3 Puzzle one - mentions how many you need on the 4th or so line "The trim, which is the same as the hem, requires ten threads." once you know that the collar requires ten you work the rest out. Puzzle Two - Logical question they both have the same size field, so both split profits equally (I didn't think logically on this one and instead worked it out WRONG) Puzzle three - the words are virtually identical "My first is in jungle but not in rectangular" The letter J isn't in Rectangular for instance.Once you've done all the words it'll come to spell "Jug Water" Day Four I have no idea :)[/hide] Answers[hide]NOTE - You need the exact items for the NPC to respond ;) (sorry for not posting this earlier)#1 Lachtopher (near general store and dungeon icon in Lumbridge) Items -2 Buckets3 Ropes5 Bananas #2 Pub near sawmill at edge of wilderness in Varrock (Jolly Boar Inn)Items -2 Buckets of milk7 Fishing bait227 coins4 Hammers Falador gem store (south of west bank) Items -3 jugs of water200 coins6 red spiders egg Faruq in Al-kharidItems -3 Small Nets10 Air Runes7 Cabbages Roddeck in Lumbridge -3 eggs8 chisels234 gp [/hide] Thanks to thread contributors for answers

November 26, 200916 yr Looks interesting!Today's is easy enough, just need to login and actually do it. Big thumbs up for the AoG campaign too, looking forward to trying that out. Two of the items are Bear Fur/meat (one of two) and a cake, not sure on third Don't think it works like that. You use the words from the clues to identify a box in the grid and take those items. i.e. if you thought one of the answers was Rare; then you'd take cowhides.
