I obviously made the wrong decision when I bought this computer because it said it could run 7400RPMs. I thought that would make it a good gaming computer, and the fact that no one objected to the graphics card. A Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family on a 2zz4yuv.png.

I've done so much to this computer its ridiculous, I'd pretty much given up on trying to free up RAM on this computer, but now that i've gotten the Left 4 Dead game for pc....

I don't know, I need someone to help me figure out which processes to end. I've ended a few I know for sure I don't need, but now i'm scared because I accidentally screwed something up last time. I fixed it, but it was pretty hard.

If anyone knows any tips or tricks to free up RAM on this computer, feel free to give me a website or ask me for any more information, i'm pretty bummed out.

**I know you might not know a lot of these processes, but I don't know what to do. :wall:

EDIT: Wow...picture is tiny, wtf. TinyPic has never failed me, why now?!

You do realize that that is a measurement of hard drive speed? And what's your graphics card?

ImageShack isn't working, do you know a good hosting website?

Freeing up RAM isn't going to make your pc faster. The Intel chipsets aren't for gaming.

Get a new graphics card, and maybe a faster processor, too.

Recommendations? If only I knew more about computers, and my brain didn't forget everything thats 2 days old.

Since it's a laptop you basically can't change anything except the ram.

Sorry, you'll have top buy a new laptop or desktop since not many laptops use mxm.

Buy a new deskop? And whats mxm

Is there anything I can do? :|

Like, change OS or something.

Similar to the plug&play graphics cards for desktops, but it isn't widely used (too bad). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MXM

No, there's nothing you can do. XP would make the computer a bit faster, yes, but it doesn't mean you'll be able to play anything else than tetris and rs.

A desktop is a normal computer. Really you made a mistake in buying a laptop with the intent of gaming on it.

Obviously there are laptops that can run high end games, the majority will at least struggle.

MXM is a laptop connection which allows easy changing of graphics cards. (I think this is right?)

If you want, you can buy an XP disc from a shop, it's probably around £60 if I remember rightly, for a Home edition.

But really it's not going to allow you to play any better games. You need better hardware.

erm...theres 7400rpm hard drive speed? i thought theres only 7200......

well...that computer is pretty much screwed up to run vista to begin with...it's almost the same spec as the laptop i got almost 2 and half years ago.... how much did you get it for anyway?

It's not the OS that is the problem, it's the computer. It's very short of the minimum requirements for Left4Dead because of the video card.

[hide=Responses]Hey, at least I got some computer Knowledge.

I doubt I would buy a new graphics card just to play games. I didn't buy the Laptop for gaming purposes, but I wanted to relax on the side after I finished up some work. Gaming makes me relaxed. I didn't know graphics cards were so important.

Anyways, I feel much better knowing I can't do anything, kind of strange, but yeah.

This Lenovo computer is really messed up btw, I think it was originally a XP laptop, then they "upgraded" it and added windows vista. They were pretty eager to get rid of it. The funny thing is, i've bought this laptop 3 times. First time parents wanted me to get another one, so we return it. Next week, it goes on discount, so we buy it again. Afterwards, we find out that the mail-in rebate had expired and that they actually forgot to update it. We return it, then it goes on discount again; this time however, they lowered the price and made it instant rebate.

Rofl. They really didn't want this computer.[/hide]

The only thing I think clearing up RAM will help is because when i'm playing a game like soldier front, I can purposely use up all my RAM so that my PING shoots up to 500 and I don't get fps lag anymore. I only get connection lag.

That means that my graphics card can handle the graphics, something isn't letting it process it. My theory is that there are two hardrives(?), Processors(?), or something inside the computer and its only using one, after I use up all the RAM from one engine, it switches to two, or overdrive or something.

No, your graphics card just sucks...

:(

Is there a listing of all graphics cards into categories and pricing because I don't want to screw up if I decide to get another one.

You can't get another graphics card without getting a new computer/laptop right now. Toms hardware has a good benchmark chart though.

Ah thank you. One thing led to another and I got here...

Are there any pre-made computers with the higher ranked ATI or Nvidia Graphics cards on this list.

I have to head out soon.

P.S. Wtf....Intel are at the bottom of the friggin pit by the standards of almost every gamer. I should've done more research when buying this.

That's actually a very accurate list, seems to have about every video card on there. You can get premade computers with the higher ranked cards in them, although they usually cost a lot (desktops here, laptops are a whole other story).

Sometimes it's a lot cheaper to get a good desktop with a good power supply and then buy the video card separate and put it in.
