Speakers [SOLVED]

Featured Replies

Ok, I just bought some Creative T3100 speakers for my computer.

I've plugged everything in like it should and I can't get any sound from them. I know it's nothing wrong with the actual wiring because I took the green port out of the back of the computer and plugged it into my mum's laptop and it worked fine. Also, don't say turn the volume up or unmute it, i'm not an idiot.

Any help please?

Thanks

Have you updated your sound card drivers?

Tried that, said I have the most recent ones.

Is there a driver that came with it or other software you haven't installed?

Does your computer think it's outputting to another source? - ie Does it recognize that you've plugged in new speakers? I'm not sure what OS you're running but you should be able to check the sound settings in your Control Panel.

No, there wasn't.

Does this help?

I know they work, because i left everything how it was and just took the green cable out of the back on my computer and plugged it into my mums laptop and it was fine.

I don't think the computer recognizes the Creative speakers, because it says Realtek... What was the previous brand of speaker? Also it might help if you clicked on "Configure" and see what it gives you.

Realtek is the brand of his sound card, not the speakers, so it's irrelevant in this issue.
