We all know the drill for prayer tasks, wear proselyte and pray. But what about the shield slot, should i use the defender for better attacks, or the unholy book for the higher prayer bonus.

Yes i know i have nooby gloves, I'm lazy sue me. And if u have any suggestions on what to wear instead, please post them.

It depends if you're going to be praying +10% / chivalry / piety.

 

If not I'd say defender

Praying piety and unholy kills the whole point of using Piety. Rune defender for every single Slayer task except Obby/DFS on dragons/scarabites.

Why obby @ scarabs?

You have ~5+ of high damaging Melee/range/magic scarabites on you at a time. Of course, Rune defender could definetely be used there too, if you can last.

Do locusts count in scarabites?

 

Probably not.

really when i think about it now the unholy book is only good for stuff like the abyss and ranging etc?

locust do not, locust rider do, if im wrong please correct me ^.^

They should count, I don't see why they shouldn't. And Unholy is for Ranging.

If they do count why not slay scarabites in the desert wetland in the southeast corner of the desert? ;)

alot of people slay scarabite there anyway :P but below soph is a lot faster and has charms ;/

The ones underground are much more plentiful = fastest Slayer xp by far in the game.

 

 

 

If your task is small you can kill it there though, getting underground takes a minute or two.

Iv'e died 3 times down there so far ^,^ , just have a charged spectre in your bank whenever you do the task so if you do die you can get your stuff. but its definatly worth the risk

Falador 3 has best shield bonus in game. Fally is worst than prayer books.
