January 7, 200917 yr I hope it's more like a FunOrb affair, where you can use the same account to play MechScape as you do RuneScape. I hope my Godsword can travel between games, too - slashing robots in half! Yay! From the pictures available, MechScape already looks very Disney-like though... From ME's research, JaGEx was looking to hire people with anime interests, so hopefully they'll have mobile suit-like 'mechs rather than Wallies.
January 7, 200917 yr What the hell do you think? Will they really give up on Runescape, their most profitable game yet? Somehow, I have a feeling they won't. Yes, they may slow down on the updates, but it probably won't last forever, as it's a growing company, getting more employees as time goes on. January 8, 200917 yr Jagex makes a huge profit! They have over 1000k paying members, people who pay them for advertisements and even their store which makes alot too. If millions of dollars are coming in every month, why close down ? It has existed for 10 years already, and it will exist longer.
January 8, 200917 yr i dont see mechscape getting popular That's just a side effect of not having any insight.
January 8, 200917 yr When asked where Jagex would be in a year back in July 2008, Andrew Gower stated: "We will always focus on improving RuneScape and adding more depth to it. That said, a year from now, I would expect more of a focus on multiplayer and teambased gaming. We believe that players would benefit from more social content, and we have some great ideas for this. You won't have to be in a clan to do any of this either - we have plans for match-making scenarios where you could meet other players and team up with those that you like. We see RuneScape as a forum for people to meet and get to know each other". In the same interview he also said "Our aim is to not abandon our older games and their fanbases in any way, which is a real test when you consider that we still cater for their older computers" and "we are obviously going to keep focused on RuneScape it's our priority to keep updating this massively popular game" (source).
