January 10, 200917 yr Author It wasn't completely hand made. I used a default photoshop texture and then clone stamped and brushed with some rocky brushes
January 10, 200917 yr Pretty nice. I think the background is too noisy, tone it down and have more prominent stars and nebulae. Also, there is obvious cloning/repeated brushing just below the planet, you need to fix that. Like someone mentioned in your DA post, the red glow at the bottom isn't so great, it wouldn't happen there and it's too saturated.
January 10, 200917 yr Also, I don't really see why it's called cataclysm, there doesn't appear to be anything cataclysmic happening.
January 10, 200917 yr I agreee with pryomancer that the background is too noisy ad needs more stars and nebulae. I also agree with him about the title, Cataclysm. The scene seems pretty calm to me. But generally, I think it looks very nice. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
January 10, 200917 yr It's a fine scene but I have a few problems with it. - It's pretty boring. Nothing really is going on. - The color scheme is kind of dull. - The planet is ok although you over did the glow around it. Get rid of the glow on the shadowy side. - The bright stars are all too focused around the center. You never have any reason to look anywhere ellse but the center of the scene, where everything is going on. - Aaand... the center is a kind of boring place to put it all :) - Too much noise on the stars, there are way too many of them - Not much depth. The planet has a bit of it, but the scene just doesn't look spacey because it's so flat. Try photomanipulating in clouds or something, for nebulas, to really give it some depth. January 10, 200917 yr Author Thanks for all the comments :) It's called Cataclysm because when I was making it, it looked A LITTLE like the Catalyst from Heroes. And it reminded me of Cataclysm and la da da.. I'll try to fix all the stars and things for you tomorrow, tired now.
January 11, 200917 yr from the title i thought of it as a planet near a dying star... hence the surface of the planet appearing burnt up
