mysafehome01
Ok so about 1 month ago i decided to put all my money into slaying. I started on 56 and i'm currently at 71. So far the profit I have made has barely covered the cost of poitions/food/summoning. My question is at what level roughly do you start making a small/medium profit? Cheers in advance :)
ultimatballr
I found once I hit 70 I was making a better profit, maybe you should cut down on food costs with guthans and the cost of pots. (Hopefully you are not praying on every task if you can't afford the pots) At 70 you can kill those gargoyles which usually got me a G maul per task so it was a good 100k here and there. Apparently, my signature was to big.
mysafehome01
I'm ont praying on many tasks at all at the minute and ranging where possible. I just seem to be constantly getting Black demons, Kalphites, Greaters or iron dragons at the minute. Maybe my fortunes will change I don't know, jus thave to wait and see. Thanks for the help! ultimatballr
Maybe if you try using Summona as your slayer master until you are 100 f2p combat you may find it easier to get a better profit going. Another thing, always pick up coin drops, if you don't already, they add up quite nicely in the end. Me and a friend like to pick them up and alch everything that costs more than the price of a nat (thus giving profit) usually after 3-5 tasks we have an extra 80-110k in our inventory. Apparently, my signature was to big.
Orly_Owl
Why does a Guthans user suggest using Sumona for slayer? :? Remember.. - Slayer doesnt only have to be done by melee, if you need to train range, slayer works for it too. - Chaeldar has great, great tasks, fun and really easy. I'd use Chaeldar until 80 all melee stats (80+ HP, so you should do well with Duradel)) and duradel (or sumona under 100) for every 10th task. - Slayer isnt a great money maker, or xp via combat, just remember this. It is a mix of the 2 where killing dragons seems great but is low xp. To the point, I found 55 slayer pretty good, with the introduction of Turoths. And, if you get blue dragons, fire giants, and turoths a bit, you should expect a bit of cash. For sumona, alot of tasks are really slayer monsters. They need items like headgear, amulets, shields, or special weapons to kill, so Guthans + Sumona = pretty bad. Slayer by Duradel apparently doesnt get too good until I think, 78 or 83. And sumona isnt very good for XP or cash either. You dont wanna keep fighting cave crawlers? Pretty bad xp or decent (if lucky) drops for the level 20 somethings, Nice xp, cannonable, and costly by prayer by the level 130+ ones.

I also pick up coins other people leave on the floor, or alch stuff they don't find worthy of alching. If black demons are too expensive in your current setup, try another one. Range them, or use the d halberd. Slower but cheaper.
mysafehome01
I think i'll stick with duradel and just hope for some more profitable tasks. Yeah i have started to alch/pick up all drops. I also said that i RANGE where POSSIBLE.

I believe you had completed Smoking kills, and if you hadn't, you should. The points are good for blocking completly the monsters you don't like, for the very useful slayer helm and ring (I suggest getting the ability to make these), and you can always scratch 1 task if you don't like it, and don't want to block it either... I find it as a good thing when I can block any monsters I find none-profitable/ low profit/ any mosnters I find annoying.

Orly_Owl
Oh, dont block kalphites. It's annoying when I see someone complaining how slow and bad they are when they kill the workers, without a cannon atleast.
mysafehome01
I kill them without a cannon and they're totally fine.

[spoiler=Sig] I like to think of the Dark Bow like a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) - you get one shot and then you're screwed.
