How likely is it that I will get less than 3152 range exp while shooting red chins that run off in the process of getting 8.5m hunter exp? I want to get that 99 at the same time as my total level is a multiple of 100 for lots of fireworks, but 3152 range exp will get me a level in that, so if it's highly unlikely for me to achieve 99 hunter without a range level, I will put off hunter for some time to do other stuff. Thanks.

Chinchompas=1hp->4xp/kill.

3152/4=788 chins.

So it's a slim chance.

Very unlikely, as said. You would have to average over 40.7 red chins getting captured for every chin that runs away.

However, you may want to consider using mage to kill them. Chins have 1hp, so even using wind strike is an option. I suppose you might be able to melee them if you really wanted, I'd use a drag hally for it. But probably not such a great idea to melee.
