guywho
I love to mine a lot...it is one of my favorite skills and as you can see in my signature it is going to be my second 99...but what i don't get is how in the world that people that have mining level 70 can sometimes out mine me... I know every game has its flaws but really...level 97 mining can't even out mine a level 70 mining in coal, mith, and addy I hope this will eventually get fix Life will move on and i will still get my 99 in mining never felt so good venting
Omg12333
So you mean that a level 70 should never get ores if they are competing with someone higher level? That's just unfair. Mining has luck in it, and you just got unlucky. It is annoying, but you'll beat him next time. Support the best way to stop keyloggers!

Bauke
True. It's unbalanced. You don't really profit from a higher mining level. It's a shame really. A higher mining level should be rewarded with a better chance to get an ore. This is not the case. I've mined thousands of ores, from which a lot of them were in competition with other (mostly low levelled miners). I feel safe to say that after counting numerous times that there's a minor difference in speeds between high and low levels. How soon you tell the game to get the ore, however, is entirely up to you. A level 99 will almost always outmine a level 70 at the same click time, but if you have a high latency internet connection or react slowly, you'll get beat more often. It could use more tweaking so that higher levels have more of an advantage, though. Mining has luck in it, and you just got unlucky. It is annoying, but you'll beat him next time. I wouldn't really call it unfair... After all, the higher leveled miner did spend more time getting his level so it would only make sense if he at least beat the lower level miner if they were going for the same rock most of the time. But if there's a significant level difference like 97 to 70, then I think the 97 should get the ore all the time. ^ Refresh for a new signature ^
quelmotz
Thats not the only problem with mining. Ores that are used to make armor take higher lvl to mine than their equilavent in woodcutting. for example: mithril 55 mining. willow 30 wc. both need lvl 20 in the respective skill to use and yet mithril takes 25 LEVELS MORE!!!!?????!!!! Adamant needs 70 mining and maple needs 45 wc?!!!?!?!??! also, wood only needs wood to fletch (im not a mem so i dont know much about fletching) while mining needs like 1 main ore +some coal!!?!?!?! WTF!! :o Mining is made even more unbalanced because you can never get more than one ore in a rock!! You can get like 20 logs from a tree and there are far more trees in rs than ores! (just try counting the normal trees in rs) nvm dont count the normal trees, just count the oak, or even willow. There is like about 15 willows in f2p and with no reqs whereas there is only about 8-9 mithril ore, with 6 of them needing at least 60 mining to get. Bauke
Yes, speed differences between lvl 70 and lvl 99 are too small. Ofcourse, based on chance, anyone can outmine you. But it just happens too often. My feeling is that when I compete with a ~70 miner, it's pretty much 60/40. Just not enough imo. You don't have to train mining just for the mining speed... Mining has luck in it, and you just got unlucky. It is annoying, but you'll beat him next time. i'm rather torn. You see i do think you should have some extra benefit being a higher level but at the same time. In places where there are very few ores it wouldn't be fair to the lower levelled miner if you got all the ores. It probably does give a higher percentage change of getting the ores than 70 but it would mostly be random. pureprayer
It has to do with whoever strikes the ore first. If he does he has that little boost that can push him over the top and get the ore. Pureprayer, you're awesome.
Friendyboy
I can see your frustration to an extent as he is over 20 levels lower. However, if in your mind you think you should get all of the ores, the same thing would have to apply in all other skills....including combat. For example:- You would be suggesting that a level 70 attack would NEVER hit someone with 80 defence. It just can not happen. I have mined a few ores and I have rarely lost ores to lower leveled miners. I think as comp suggested, either your connection is slower, or you have slower reactions. Trust me, in the long run, you will get almost all the ores. 16x Black mask1x Dragon Chainbody1x Dragonic Visage32x Dragon BootsObsidian Drops:-13 x Cape/ 6 x Shield/ 6 x Maul/ 750+ Onyx Tips
