Skill_Caster
Hey guys. I'm considering getting the very sexy Logitech G15 Keyboard for my new PC setup later this year, and I wanted to know if anyone here's had experiences with it. I can't exactly say I love the orange backlighting, but the screen is pure epic win. In addition, if anyone here has it, what apps do you have for the LCD? Of course, this year, there's going to be a new keyboard in the series...the intimidating Logitech G19 Keyboard (with an actual, like...actual screen). I also need a mouse. I've been considering the Logitech G5, but that'd set me back another $100 just for accessories. Is it worth it? Are there other decent mouses out there (rechargeable if it's wireless please)? So guys, what do you think? Any experiences with any of this stuff? What should I choose? Any other recommended add-ons? Thanks -Skill
eggzs
G5 is A++, what accessories are you getting for it? I recommend a quality Mousepad (Razer, Steelseries)
Nadril
Get the G5, and I would personally just get a cheaper Logitech keyboard. In all honesty the screen seems a lot like a gimick to me personally, and I've heard from some friends that bought it that they didn't like it too much. sloter
I have the G15 great keyboard. I have the G5 and that is a great mouse. I would wait for the G19 though.
JoeDaStudd
G5 (rev 2) is a solid mouse. The warranty on it is great too. For the keyboard it depends on your budget. I went with a Ideazon Merc and have never had any major issues (one or two minor issues which were fixed with a software update). The Zboard mapping software is great, plus the little gamer pad on the left means its a gaming keyboard when you want to game and a standard keyboard for chat, office, etc. [hide=Drops]Dragon Axe x11Berserker Ring x9Warrior Ring x8SeercullDragon MedDragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kcGodsword Shard (bandos)Granite Maul x 3Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats][/hide]
Skill_Caster
Crap. If I get both the very shiny G19 and G5, I'm looking at $350 for just the accessories...(I kinda want the G5 ID thing if I'm getting the G5 mouse). But dang =/ That's a lot more than I was planning on spending. Any ideas on headsets while I'm at it?

Doomster
Not sure if they are available in the US, but the Medion X81000 gaming mouse is a blast. I have a similar model, the E81000 "Professional". Features of both: Laser sensor, max 1600dpi 5 button (4/5 are thumb side) 4 way scrolling, tilt wheel Shaped with rubberized side grips E81000: 2.4GHz wireless dpi select button 800/1600 X81000: Wired dpi select button (200/400/800/1600) dpi indicator (colour change logo) Weight tray Fire-lock button I decided I'd rather have wireless than the extra "gaming" tweaks - even allowing for wireless delay, the laser sensor is still far superior to any optical I've used, smoother and more responsive. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the gaming model.
Skill_Caster
Alright...and while this isn't exactly for the purpose of the topic, could someone fetch up a customized PC at HP.com just to tell me what kind of price estimate I'm looking at for a computer that can run things like Sims 3, GTAIV, WoW, etc.? Sorry for the off-topic-ic-ness, but I'm kind of hoping to not go over my original budget since I'm going to be spending a lot on accessories and such. das1330
Nadril's build is good, but are you sure you wouldn't be willing to build your own computer? you do generally get more for your money doing so.
Skill_Caster
Nadril's build is good, but are you sure you wouldn't be willing to build your own computer? you do generally get more for your money doing so. Yea, but to be honest, I'd have no idea where to start. There's the whole "if you screw up you're own your own because the tech support is you" thing, and it seems so complicated. I'd be afraid that I'd wire something wrong and it'd combusted into flames when I booted it up or something. Anyways, regarding Nadril's setup...3GB of ram? That's enough? I guess that's kind of offset by the 1GB video card. Bit more expensive for the tastes but I figured I had no other real option when I started. But...just for kick's, how much would the net cost be if I build a custom-built PC with those specs?
Nadril
If you aren't comfortable building your own PC there is no reason to do so. You might cause more harm then good. The only reason for 3GB of RAM is that they were charging an exorbitant amount for an extra gig ($50!!) of RAM when in reality you could buy 4GB of good quality RAM for $30-$40 these days. 3GB should be enough for anything you're doing, and if you wanted to upgrade RAM is very easy to upgrade. Ah, that's pretty smart logical. I'm probably not going to start off too hard I suppose, and I could easily (and cheaply) upgrade later in the year/years when the need arises. Thanks so much for all of your help guys. =D
