January 24, 200917 yr Here's the newer version of the sig. I like it a lot more : And this is the original version: Well after reading some tutorials I decided I would try and make a vector sig, to challenge myself. Well I took this photo: And used this tutorial: http://www.gimptalk.com/forum/vector-yo ... t6124.html To turn it into this vector: It took me two hours and I'm pretty proud of it : Tomorrow I'm going to re-size it and use this tutorial: http://www.gimptalk.com/forum/curly%CA% ... 8287f2e0e0 To make a vector sig with it. This stuff is really fun and I think I've got the hang of the path tool and layers now. Also tifblack would probably make the outline show more, if you want to see it better. Sig's in last post
January 24, 200917 yr Vectors are super awsome in my opinion! The most fun is with light. Using gradients. Its so cool ;) I hope your will turn out great! ----TheLair Game!----"Game isn't dead... You wish!"
January 24, 200917 yr It looks promising so far, though the edges and the frets don't seem paticularly well done. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
January 24, 200917 yr It's not too bad, but some of the edges look really choppy. I'd try to use fewer anchor points and make sure your curves look smooth. pixel avvy by me deviantART
January 24, 200917 yr Fewer nodes -> Always better. You're getting a lot of choppiness from using too many of them. To illustrate: (15 nodes, just a 10-minute trace in Inkscape) When doing vector, simplification is more than a virtue- It helps (Along with the careful use of symmetrical and smooth nodes) your work to look professional and helps extremely with scaleability. http://Inkscape.org/ Download that and learn to use it, much better than the GIMP vector system.
January 24, 200917 yr AWESOME BLACK BEAUTY LES PAUL I OWN ONE IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THAT! cept it says epiphone :-$ :-$ looking good tho ive always wanted to be able to do this style Pixel Signature Made By Me.Pixel Art Tutorial * Pixel Gallery * My Free Pixel Sigs Shop
January 24, 200917 yr Author Alright, the sig didn't turn out quite the way I wanted. I don't know what it is, but there's something about it I don't like #-o C/C?
January 24, 200917 yr Uno Says : *smacks with newspaper* Don't post what you don't like :P All credit of this goes to Uno XD
January 24, 200917 yr Uno Says : *smacks with newspaper* Don't post what you don't like :P All credit of this goes to Uno XD Sigh... well at least you gave meh credits. You need a focal point, I think. Right now the sig is like, all over the place... Here be dragons ^ Dragon of the Day
January 24, 200917 yr Smoothen the edges, when scaled it looks choppy. And either get Illustrator, or you can download Inkscape. Two very, very powerful vector programs. *Smacks with magazine* Now Uno didn't see that coming 8-)
January 24, 200917 yr Nice job on the vector, but yeah less nodes= BTW: can anyone post any good inkscape tuts my bro says I pick bad ones #-o I Support TET!| If you want bunny PM Me.|Click For My DevArt^ Cowboy is the Best ^IT'S A TRAP SHINY JUST WANTS TO STALK YOU.Hell yeah I do. January 25, 200917 yr Author Uno Says : *smacks with newspaper* Don't post what you don't like :P All credit of this goes to Uno XD Sigh... well at least you gave meh credits. You need a focal point, I think. Right now the sig is like, all over the place... I just wanted to get opinions  and yeah the focal point's supposed to be the guitar but I think I added too much to the right of the sig and that took away some of the spotlight. Only problem is if I take it out it looks too plain but if I keep it in it looks too busy #-o I'll just wait till something comes to me before I try anything else though. I just know there's something that belongs in the right side that will make it look awesome.
January 28, 200917 yr Author Alright, got the sig fixed. Now it's a little more obvious the guitar's the focal point. I think it looks a lot better.
