Why don't you sell the ranger boots and buy snakeskin boots? Its only a slight decrease in ranged attack and gives more cash to work with?

You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.

you have great stats so maybe sacred clay coif + yaks? Thats what ive been doing at 80+ range. when ive got free time i can get 300k xp a day plus stock up on coifs again for the next day trip to yaks(10 usually cause... 30k gain per coif x 10 coifs = 300k xp :D). If you dont like stealing creation then yea people will tell you chins is definitly best xp but expensive 400k xp per hour i beleive at lvl 90+

You do realize if you spent the time training range instead of getting sc helms, you would gain more exp. The only time it would be useful is while chinning because you need to maximized exp.

Imo you need money, and you need range exp. Stay at avvys.

doesnt sc stuff give you a certain amount of xp? like ive always seen 30k gain with sc helms before each degraded when i would get 15k without (tried this out at yaks) then i did it at green drags with mithril bolts and i got the same thing conclusion.

I also found in the guide on runescape.com that..."The experience you earn will slowly degrade the sacred clay items" so what i believe that means is when chining the clay armour would degrade in like 2 minutes while it takes me like 20 or so at yaks.

you did have a point of doing full out training instead of spending time for sc but you try doing one thing for a few days streight (well have a life too.. i dont just full out yak all day) it would get boring. and right now i dont have the def level for aviances. so there my only training grounds right now

other then aviances you could get your slayer up.. dust devils are great cash/xp plus have safespots that aviances dont. most of there drops are either great alcs or stackable so you could stay there forever almost

Firstly when chinning you should be using Void Range anyway to maximize exp. Blah blah blah SC ranger helm.. blah blah double exp.. blah when it comes down to it, no void = less damage average per chin = less exp = more money spent.

Simple as that really, once I get the money and the will I might be interested in actually proving my statement but until then it is just a theory from experience with void and d hide.

Yaks or Firegiants are a fine alternative to Avvys. Though you will be losing out on the chance at millions of GP, I got 80-93 range with fire giants, mainly, and I made a few good friends as well as a profit on the way.

Fire giants are about 23k exp/hour (maybe 30k if you use range pots) I was using bone bow and bolts (before the nerf). Definitely not the greatest of exp but the profit was fine and the people were nice. ::'

Yaks are something like 50-60k exp/hour with knives (bronze or iron) and range pots + full void. Not bad if you ask me.

-----------------------

On a side note, sell the ranger boots and just use snakeskin. You won't see much of a difference, if any, in the amount you hit and you will have an extra couple mil to.. well to just HAVE. Never know when you will need it.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

doesnt void take forever to get though? i spend about 5 hours there in novice and got nowhere fast. the next boat up never wins and the last boat is like 20 seconds and the knight is dead. how does one expect to get full void :P

Fire giants 23k, lmao.

Try 50k with broad bolts, void and 90+ ranged.

Also, using SC hammers for chinning is lame (like you said), but not only because you can not use full void. Also, you would use around 20 helms an hour. So one hour of chinning is 600k xp, but it takes 6+ hours to collect the helms. So thats 600k xp in 7 hours, for the cost of 900k (rough estimate, I could look it up if you want to).

Compare that to 600k xp in 2 hours, for the cost of 1.8M.

Can you make 900k in 5 hours? I can.

However, SC is loads of fun, so if you truly enjoy it, and you dont want to lvl smithing or construction with it, you might as well give ranging helmets a go.

Just know that you are getting 45k ranged xp for free there. (15k extra xp per helm). Decide for yourself wether it's worth it.

For me, I'd rather get 75k free con xp, or 90k free smith xp, but that's me :-).

First off ditch the Karils top and buy Black D'hide top, that'll give you an extra 700k. I'd do the same with Ranger Boots for Snakeskin. Fact is, the extra money you'll have is much better spent somewhere else than the +1 or something extra ranged on the boots. Karil's ISN'T better than Black D'hide in ANYTHING except Mage Defense, so unless you're killing something like that (and even then the +12 probably isn't worth 700k for you) ditch the Karil's.
