Need Advice! Haven't Played in a Long Time

Hey all, I really, really need some advice. I haven't played Runescape (Let alone log on) in over a year. The last time I played was maybe 6 months before this Grand Exchange thing came out. I logged on today, bank totally empty besides some of my member stuff. I sat here and killed chickens until I made 20k, so that I could buy a Rune Axe and still have a bit of cash left over.

As of right now, I'm a non-member with a rune axe, 10k, and 200 willow logs. I doubt anybody will take the time to look my stats up, but they aren't bad (I'll try to make a signature). But what I really need help with is what the hell has happened since I quit? There is a lot of stuff that is new to me that just is making no sense. I plan on getting members if I continue to stick with the game, but I really need some help as to what the hell is going on in this game now. Thank you in advance!

I think a major update that you might want to be notified of (if you haven't noticed already) is the attempt to remove RWTers by "taking out the wildy". ie you weren't allowed to kill other players, but now they've made pvp worlds where the whole world is for killing players apart from banks etc.

In F2P there have been a lot of minigames added in (Clan Wars, Bounty Hunter, Fist of Guthix, The Great Orb Project etc) and even a runecrafting guild.

There have been quite a few updates for F2P, but if you have the time, read that list (:

- You can no longer attack other plays on the wilderness in normal worlds.

- There are now pvp worlds, where you can attack people anywhere, excluding banks and a few other safe areas.

- There is a large building in southwest Varrock called the Grand Exchange; use this to sell and buy items (standing in the crowded bank and spamming for hours is no longer needed).

- There is a trade limit, which increases based on your quest points and if you're p2p. You can not lose or gain more then this ammount via trades every 15 minutes.

- You can now safely lend items to other players for a set ammount of time, or until either of you logs out.

- You can now assist or be assisted in a noncombat skill to make tradable items.

- There are now clan chats, the runescape equivilent of an insant messenger. Click on the 2 happy faces, and enter the name of the person who owns the chat you'd like to join.

- Lots of new game content.

Cool, alrite thank you to everybody so far. But in stuff I've read today, I've thought of two more questions:

1) I'm a big Runecrafter and I keep hearing about Graak(sp?) pouches. What are these and how do you get them?

2) What are SC Hammers?

Graahk pouches are a summoning pouch that you get and use from the summoning skill at level 57 I think?

and SC hammers are special hammers you get from doing Stealing Creation.

1) A Graahk is a level 57 summoning monster that teleports you close to the nature altar. I'm not 100% positive but I'm pretty sure it's noticeably faster than the abyss.

2) They're rewards from the Stealing Creation minigame that double the experience you get per bar when smithing. The downside is they only last for 32k xp of bars, or 64k xp total, and it takes around 20 minutes to get one hammer.

Jagex has also been fixing and tweaking a lot of things under the hood recently. The game plays quite nicely now with some of the little bugs pressed out. Things you won't probably notice right away, but something you'll probably appreciate once you settle back in.
