I have a few questions about poison ivy berries.

I know that players need to wear gloves in order to pick them. If the player doesn't how much poison damage do they get hit for? Also, do any type of gloves (e.g., Karamja gloves) work, or is it limited to leather gloves?

You only need gloves to pick nightshade/belladonna. For that, any gloves work, but gauntlets/bracelets do not. I believe the poison damage is 2, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Ivy berries do not poison but the nightshade does (patch in Draynor Manor). The RFD gloves work as do the Penance gloves, only ones I've tested.

They do get diseased, they just don't poison you when picked.

I can confirm. Poison ivy bushes will NEVER get diseased

I am sure one of mine died. The one I did for the Varrock diary, cos I remember being annoyed I had to wait again...

Unless I'm really getting confused.

Well they USED to be able to get diseased, but they were updated semi-recently (2 or 3 months ago) so that they will no longer get diseased. To be honest I don't understand the logic. Poison Ivy bushes would of course be immune to the effects of poison.... but what has that got to do with disease? :?

I didn't know that.

My farming doesn't really take in bushes. May do if they won't ever get diseased though.

Poison Ivy bushes have been "undiseasable" for longer than 2 or 3 months, but you don't need to wear gloves to pick them. Only nightshade posions when picking and Klank's gauntlet's do work (someone said gauntlets don't). If you need proof that they don't need to be paid for, click on the entry under bushes in your skills page or try to "pay" the farmer next to the patch.

Argh, you're right. I meant "vambraces," not "gauntlets." Gauntlets do indeed work.

Karamja diray gloves works, Fire ones (All fired up) don't !

Oh baby light the dark side...

I've been using the Fire gloves successfully for months. Maybe they didn't work when they first came out, but do now?

Diseased mean they are poisoned. I think you have a too narrowed view on poisoning. Anything that's bad for you when you take too much of it, can be considered poisonous. Allthough, it'd be strange that those berries produce them same poison as the one that other plants get diseased by.

That's my point! Its almost as if Jagex is saying that all plants get diseased by poison ivy bushes... Maybe some random guy is running around stabbing all our plants with a DDS! :o
