January 30, 200917 yr Hey guys, I wanna buy a capture card so I can record myself on my 360 and make a few montages etc. I'm running Vista 32-bit. I want a decent capture card and it needs to be in £ (im English) Also, what other gadjets will I need? My computer is across the room from my 360/TV and I dont care about recording sound. Thanks!
January 30, 200917 yr its would probebly be easyier to get a capture card, but something like this could work aswell. viewtopic.php?f=45&t=780814
January 30, 200917 yr Author Thats really confusing to me lol :ohnoes: My computer is the other side of the room to my xbox, I'll get the Dazzle cap card as i've also heard good stuff about it on XBOX live. But what other little splitter gadjet thingys will I need? I don't care to record sound.
January 31, 200917 yr First off, you're correct about the Dazzle capture card. I have the Dazzle Video Creator Plus ($89.99). All you have to do is connect the cables and you're good to go. Next, the splitters are optional, although they do make it easier. If you skip out on them, you'll still be able to see what you're recording...but it will be in a 2-inch area on your PC. Finally, it doesn't seem like you're out to be the next digitalph33r or anything, so Pinnacle Studio (the editing software included with the capture card) or even Windows Movie Maker will do fine. Hope I've helped. -Skill
January 31, 200917 yr Above poster is correct. The link which was given was of my setup, but the Dazzle was wrongly named on Amazon and therefore it didn't work. #-o Retired Crew Member | Retired RuneScape Player
February 1, 200917 yr Author Yeah thanks, but I still have the problem of my computer being across the other side of the room to my xbox/tv.
February 1, 200917 yr I suppose you could get a USB cable extender, as there really isn't much other option (unless you have a laptop and flash drive; which is what I do when I record). Be careful though, these might tend to slow down speed at add a delay time (as in, you press a button on your controller and it will appear on your computer screen 3 seconds later) if it's not fast enough or especially if it's not USB 2.0.
February 1, 200917 yr Author It doesn't matter i'll still be watching it on my TV screen, not computer. Btw how do I find out what type of USB my computer has?
February 2, 200917 yr Go to Device Manager (type it in the Start menu). Scroll down to Universal Serial Bus. If it says Enhanced anywhere, then it's probably USB2.0. Most new computers are USB2.0 anyway. Here is a pic:
February 5, 200917 yr http://arstechnica.com/hardware/news/20 ... n-2010.ars 4.8GB/s transfer speed pl0x? I'm going to say try and see if you can purchase any USB 3.0 HCI cards. Retired Crew Member | Retired RuneScape Player
