February 1, 200917 yr Last night I was taking some photographs of the moon for my astronomy coursework, however I overexposed most of my photos :(. When I uploaded the photos to my PC I noticed a strange 'ghost moon' had appeared. Any ideas how this could have happened? I'm curious to know why. [hide=Here's what I'm on about][/hide] EDIT: Turns out it was the UV filter I had on the end of the longer lens I was using. February 1, 200917 yr Well, it is certainly too big to be Venus. I don't know why this happened. Maybe you burnt something on your negative by the previous pics of moon? So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends. February 1, 200917 yr Author I was using my dad's digital Nikon D80 Camera with a wide angle lens, I don't think it has a filter though I'm not entirely sure. I don't think it was burnt in, I'd taken other pictures with the camera before I took that one and I haven't noticed anything. I even had the camera on a tripod outside, so it isn't caused by windows or anything. I'm going to take some more pictures this evening so I'll see if the camera lens has a filter on it or not. EDIT: Turns out the lens had a UV filter on it. I removed it, and I haven't got any 'ghosts' on my new pictures. Still, I suppose it looked quite cool :P "In the beginning, the universe was created. February 1, 200917 yr I think you will have left the shutter on too long, and it moved. But the move looks to big, and there isn't a light trail...
