Well I just did the three quests, kitten, plauge and biohazard so I can get death runes now.

The question is, is it worth it to get death runes?

I heard it takes 4 hours real time to get a kitten to a cat. So that's a lot of time... right?

But death runes are expensive, so

Who here does it, and what's your best method?

Fish and raise cat? then get death, rinse repeat, ?

it can be if you do something else while ur doing that and if u grow them into overgrown u can have more then one

Raising cats is a good thing to be doing on the side while you're doing something else, but raising cats should not be our primary source of income/death runes, as there are much better methods available.

Thanks...

Can overgrown cats be traded for death runes?

or just cats.

So I can get overgrown cats, bank them, then raise more and then get like 10 cats and take them and get 1000 runes?

Thanks...

overgrown can be traded for 100 death runes also

it is not a viable way for income at all

cats are good for fly fishing though

100 death runesX300 (good enough estimate)=30k...

There was actually a guide labeled something like "Fury: 14.5k, fish , some patience? Oh my!" and basically outlined the long and arduous process of getting a fury through only raising cats. After death runes were traded in, they were taken and traded in elsewhere for some tokens of some sort (Tokkul?), and then those tokens were traded in for the fury.

Anyway, if you're training a skill like FMing, WCing, mining, crafting, or something similar, then raising a cat isn't a bad idea since you're not constantly worrying about something else. Just bring a fish or two and you'll be able to keep your cat fed.

Like already said, if your fishing or anything, keep a cat out. It can also be extra profit, from the money you already are earning.

what i'm doing now:

Raising cats alongside normal skilling is only good if you have low summoning. Over those 4 hours, most decent foraging familiars will probably yield greater profit with lower maintenance.

If you do decide to though, 2 tips on food:

1. Buy it raw

2. Buy shrimp

Just think of it as an effortless 25k per hour

But with a familiar you can easily get over 25k worth of items in less then 4 hours. Hell if you value time a terrorbird or bullant can save more then enough time in 4 hours to allow you to make 25k.

Seriously though if your fishing granite crab (and the higher levelled fishing familiars) is a far better follower.
