Earpy
Hey all, I'm trying to play RuneScape HD on my laptop, and im having a problem. It just doesn't run smoothly at all. I've tried checking the following; - All the specs are way over the minimum required to play HD - Java version is upto date - Firefox is up to date - No other program is running - Tried both versions of Java - Restarted serveral times - Set Anti-Aliasing to none. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to why RuneScape HD wont run at a playable speed? It's just so darn slow. Thanks in advance, Earpy. The Observer
You might want to state your stats because some graphics cards don't really work too well with HD. You may have also overlooked something. Did you also try making your computer effects to minimum such as changing it to "Windows Standard" instead of "Windows Vista Aero/Basic" or "Windows XP"? Nadril
It would be nice to know the specifications of your laptop. Did you also try making your computer effects to minimum such as changing it to "Windows Standard" instead of "Windows Vista Aero/Basic" or "Windows XP"? FYI depending on the computer you may get more performance out of vista Aero.
Earpy
Thanks for your replies. My system specs are; - Windows Vista Home Premimum - 1916MB RAM - Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2370 @ 1.37GHz - SiS Mirage Graphics (Total memory 376MB) Is there anything else you'd want to know? All drivers including Graphics card are upto date. Thanks, Earpy.
Dracion1
The graphics card could be an issue, if it's integrated. It may not be powerful enough to run HD, despite meeting the memory requirements. The only problem is that the manufacturer isn't one I've heard of before, so I have no idea how good the card is. Does it work if you turn all of the settings on HD down? "In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move." Earpy
No it still doesn't work when all settings are turned off / minumum and screen resolution is at lowest.
Nadril
I can't seem to find the card anywhere on any benchmark tests, but I'm guessing it simply is not powerful enough.
OldJoe
That gpu is your problem. It's not meant for games, probably old RS and Sim City 3000 is playable, but not the new RS. And since you're on a laptop you can't change it either, sorry. Salad
Try Google Chrome/Opera/Safari/IE8 (Throws up on IE8) or runescape client, only thing I can think of.
