I'm 20k off of 76 ranged right now. it took me a hell of a long time (in my opinion) just to go from 90k off to 20k off.... <.<

I was training with bronze knives, full void, unholy book, archers ring, snakeskin boots -.-, fury and ranging potions.

I have around 72m now, at what level should i start chinning? normal or red chins?

I've been told to start around 85 ranged, but what should i do for 75-85 ranged? the exp. rates for yaks seem low...

i have seen bedman's guide, it is very informative  , i need to know what to do now for 75+ ranged.

you do realise chinning xp is only marginally faster than yak xp?

and that yaks can do up to 100k xp an hour?

If you think yak xp is slow then I would advise you to not train ranged at all as yak is pretty darn fast xp.

But anyway down to the advice:

i'd say 85+ for chins

Red chins are most popualr but greys are arguably marginally cheaper in gp:xp ratio

til 85 jsut keep pwoer trianing at yaks but try upgrading to iron knives. In the gp:xp:speed ratio they work better than bronze

I've seen people getting 250K-300K xp an hour (or even more) with Chinchompas using Void and Prayer.

Not exactly a "marginal" difference.

For the vast majority there is a very marginal difference between the two methods.

All guides etc quote and give the BEST xp rates for thth emthod, however 75% of rsers will find they can't do it quit perfect and get a lower xp rate.

The complexity of chinning means thth it is far easier to do slightly wrong and thus crush ur xp rate down to about 150k while yaks r so blindingly simple if ur not getting clsoe to 100k an hour u have issues big time

hmm, are you talking about how people can't nail down the 3x3 method of chinning? i can see that. doesn't bedman's guide nail down the most efficient methods of getting the 3x3 square?

would i get 100k/h with iron knives at my range level (75) i might be potted up to 80+ (86 is the max for 75 range)

I really have no idea how somone could manage 100k\hr at yaks. Last time I was there at around 90 range, with maxed gear and void I barely reached 70k while paying attention the entire time and no pause.

This is impossible in my eyes unless you are using a cannon, which is really expensive and you should chin instead.

On topic

Since you seem financially stable I would suggest staying at yaks to 80 then moving on to chins.

You could also throw in a cannon at yaks to get even more xp, not exactly sure about the cost, but it is "blindingly simple".

Bedman's guide in the General Guides forum should give you all the info you need. Generally, grey chins are better.

its all in the timing.

I was getting about 80k - 90k average when i was ther jsut recently getting up to 80 rnage

Its all about being able to click a new yak and the exact right moment.

To soon and u mess up cause ur yak aint dead

Too late and you watse time between yaks and thus slow ur xp

some kid on rsc got 59734 xp or so with 97 ranged and pot. i think that was an epic fail lol... because you guys are getting significantly higher rates. I'll try with iron knives and see what i get. Bedman's guide is incredible, i'll start chinning at around 80. then get 70 agility :uhh: gonna be a long way from 53 agility.

yaks are slow and require too much attention to kill properly.

you have easily enough money to get 99 range with chins, obviously. i would suggest that you train somwere to 80, then start chinning. if all other training methods are annoying, you could chin at your current level. it would be less exp/chin, but it would be alot faster

while chining, use vk range, eagle eye and range pots. you read bedmans guide so i guess you know all that

basically, just chin now. 76-80 aint that much exp, and it goes fast while chinning. dont bother with yaks. id say use red chins

I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"

walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

im guessing that at 76 range the exp/hr rate may be 175k-190k exp/hr with reds. once you get 99 range you should like.... go arma in team or solo, or saradomin if u have agility. sara is fairly easy even with a lowish defence

what about greys? i think bedman's guide said that greys were more worth it coinwise but reds took cut the time by like 3 hours.

i'll have 77 in like 20 mins.
