Everytime there person walks behind you, your character follows theirs and then theirs follows yours in a continuous cycle. Like the smoke in the smoke dungeon bothers some people and not others. It is annoying, but my best advice is to just ignore them. Leave the area as soon as possible. Thats what I always do.
