So I just got back in RS a few days ago(after nigh on a year away), did the quests to get the slayer reward point system thing and started doing tasks, all from Mazchna to build up some fast points, went to Duradel for my 10th task to get the big bonus points and...he gives me 55 Steels to kill.

 

 

 

I've never killed metal dragons, always burthorped them, and now I'm wondering...should I burthorpe them then rinse repeat the process(9 tasks at Mazchna, 1 at Duradel) or should I just head down to Brimhaven Town and blapse some dragons. More importantly, if I WAS to go kill them....how do I go about it?!!!?! Never done it before lol, my stats should be in my sig if that helps things.

Meh i say kill them. Youve alway got a chance of getting a decent drop, even if it is a small chance, why not just do it. I am sure you will be able to kill all 55 in one go so you would not have to worry about 2 trips. There is a pretty decent guide on the tip.it database so have a look at that. If i were you i would either range or mage them because melee uses too much prayer potions. Buy a couple of anti fire potions, a couple of broad/emerald(e) bolts and a few ranged potions and youre ready to go :)

If you burthope a task you have to do 5 tasks without points therefore it isn't worth it. Just check the tip.it guide under monster hunting, you have two options melee or fire bolt with the chaos gauntlets from the family crest quest. I have the same range level as you and so I can tell you it is too slow that way but whatever it is up to you.

You could spend 30 points and cancel them without any penalty...but I say just look up a guide and do them.

My usual advice would be to add them to perm block list, but seeing as you can't, and it's your 10th, you will have to do them.

 

 

 

Very easy to range/mage. Just bring usual gear with anti-drag shield and pots. No prayer required. Only issue is irons will attack you and you have to fight for spawns.

 

 

 

Melee requires pray (melee), standard gear but bring a leaf bladed sword (not the spear) as the dragons don't like it much. Super set of course with your anti fire pots.

With your stats, I would mage fire bolt with chaos gauntlets. Your range is too low and melee takes forever (so does mage but at least you don't waste prayer pots).

 

Permablock them once you can though

I'm ranging them always in full void.. with an anti fire pot/anti firebreadth shield you won't get hit AT ALL (as long as you keep distance to the dragon)....

 

 

 

I use 1 dose / 2.5 dragons.. But seeing as your ranged level is a lot lower, I bet you would need 1 dose / 2 dragons: take 8 anti firebreadth (4) pots to be safe :).

 

 

 

Also I think black dhide is best for you (r crossbow, blackdhide, glory/fury, snakeskinn boots / archer helmet and shoot either broad or addy bolts)...

 

 

 

Will take some time, but you can always pray for amazing drops (my best is a dragon skirt though).

Thanks for the reply guys, I do appreciate all the help though some has seemed a bit irrelevant/redundant(telling me to range/wear black dhide, I simply said my stats were in sig to avoid providing one and being asked for another, hoping people would look at them anyway). Sounds like maging them may well be the way to go so I'll look into that(any help?? would be nicetings :D), ranging ain't much of option nor is melee, but I'd ask....what sort of cost am I looking to put out for all of this task, really? What's my best setup/option going to be, also?

If you own ahrims use it. If not mystic will suffice. Get a fire/air staff, buy runes for firebolt. Task shouldn't cost more thatn 80k. Should make back some of that in drops. So full ahrims/mystic anti d-fire shields anti d fire shield and staff. yeah

I would mage them with firebolt.
