Lending guidelines needed

Is there a guide to lending rates for items? I have avoided lending as I have no information on fair pricing. It seems this could be abused easily, even used for wealth transfer. I cannot find any useful guidelines for what to charge or how that works and the manual also seems uninformative. I suspect that you can pay in items or cash, or the lender can demand cash, which may affect the pricing. I do not care to rip off people nor be ripped off, but I have found it hard to do the due diligence that my ethical tendencies require.

This could even be something to add to the item database for lendable items.

I am more likely to be a lender than a borrower.

for the rarer stuff, some people charge the max trade limit per hour, some people lend for free, just try and find a rate you can both agree on

You only live twice. Once when you are born and once when you look death in the face.

Do not fear Death. Death is always at our side. When we show fear, it jumps at us faster than light. But, if we do not show fear, it casts its eye upon us gently and then guides us into infinity...

Lender has item 1.Borrower wants that item.(most lending/borrowing is done in w2 ge, near the edge agility shortcut).

Lender asks for X k gp/hr or (as I do it) asks for a specific value for a lot of hours. For example I lend my gs, over the night, as it'd be a waste to just let it collect it dust in bank.600k for 14 hours. That's what I usually charge for SGS.

Lender puts up that time and the agreed worth of junk, the borrower puts money in the trade window.Simple as that. Referring to how much you can ask, see what others offer.

The lender puts junk into the window do the person lending pays the hourly rate for the item.

I have a feeling the Jagex manual is woefully inadequate on covering how this works, LOL.

Based on what is said above, the trade limit does come into play here. Since the trade limit seems to be for 15 minutes, it is 4 times that per hour. But trade (balance) limits of both players likely affect this. For loans, do they allow an unbalance based on the total length of the loan? That is, is it based on n hours times the hourly trade limit? Jagex has said that loans do not affect the trade limit, but the trade limit does seem to affect loaning. Do you need junk only if you exceed the hourly trade limit? Or is this really strange?

Is the junk needed only to get past the hourly trade limit, i.e., to ask for more than that per hour? Or do they apply the 15 minute trade limit to all of a 24 loan, instead of 96 times the 15 minute limit? (one last try to give Jagex the benefit of the doubt)

Wtf are you talking about? It's simple.I put junk there to total an amount of X k,the borrower puts up money and he gets the item along with the junk. You can put as much as you want there, if the borrower accepts.

Its quite simple.. maybe you are more of a visual person, so it would help to be spaced out a bit more.

Player 1 has a item to lend

Player 2 wants the item.

Player 1 offers the item up for 2 hours at a cost of 50k per hour. (That's a total of 100k)

Player 1 then puts junk into the trade to equal up to 100k. (Since the trade limit does not reach 100k)

Player 2 offers 100k cash.

~The trade is accepted.~

Player 1 gets the 100k

Player 2 gets the junk and the item to use for 2 hours.

------------------

Understand?

It can't be put into any simpler terms than that, so if you do not understand maybe you should go borrow an item from someone and see how it's done first hand.

As for the prices, its mainly a price the lender and borrower can agree on. Some people are willing to pay 500k for 3 hours some will only pay 500k for 24 hours. It's all a matter of coming to an agreement, there are no set prices.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

Mid price because they are doing a trade with the trap windows.

Player 1 with the SGS is lending it 50k per hour.

Player 2 wants an SGS for 6 hours and puts up his 300k cash.

Player 1 puts up 300k worth of the junk (mid price of the junk) and lends SGS for 6 hours.

They both accept.

Player 1 gets 300k.

Player 2 gets the GS for 6 hours and has 300k junk.
