A few health/fitness questions

Well, you might really not be growing all that much more. Of course, if your dad isn't shorter than you as well, you'll likely shoot up within a year or two.

The two or three southern Asians I know are pretty short. But I'm about 6 feet tall, so I can't really say anything.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Btw, my dad is 5 foot 5 inches and I'm aiming for 6 feet :o

Damnit, I want to laugh but I'd feel like a jerk.

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

A six pack's a lot more about diet than people realise, doing situps all day will build the core abdominal muscle but if you've got any kind of layer (fat) above it they just won't show. You can have very strong ab muscles without a six pack, they're just not as defined. So eat clean, healthy foods and you'll have the diet sorted.

As for exercises look up a light-ish ab program here, don't just do situps. Leg raises are good, weighted crunches, hanging leg raises, twists with a weighted ball etc. etc. You get the idea. You don't build any muscle well by just doing one exercise for it, so find a varied program and stick to it.

As for the other stuff, don't worry about it. As long as you have good nutrition there isn't much you can do about your height, just make sure you have good posture to maximise what you've got. You'll grow. And don't worry about those veins in your thighs, that's just vanity at your age.

Thanks for the advice everyone :)

I know I'm too young to be worrying about these things :P lol.. But I like to think about doing things in the long run.

My dad is like 5'8'' and I'm 6'2'' so I don't think it's completely impossible, but don't get your hopes up. I knew people who were really short most of their childhood and then in one year they grow half a foot. Like I said, don't get your hopes up though. Height is something you can't really control.

Number 1 and 2: Lose fat.

Number 3: just make sure you get plenty of nutrientsa nd vitamins.

For height you basically just need to sleep and eat properly. Sports like tennis and basketball that keep the bone remodeling going can have a very, very small effect. I've never heard of a study that shows streching plays a part. You strech your muscles while your height is determined by the lenght of your bones.

Streching can sometimes help with growth induced pain in extreme cases though. My friend from my basketball team was 190cm (6'3'') at the age of thirteen and if anything touched his shins it would hurt him. He went to see a sporting specialist doctor who had him do streching and go to special massages. Still, those pains and the streching were both related to his muscles and not the bones that determine how tall you are. Just sleep nine hours every night and don't worry about it. Unless you want to be a professional athlete your life will be the same at 165 and 195cm.

As for training your muscles you could go to a gym or visit some bodybuilding site for programmes and nutrition tips.
