Ranging options...

Featured Replies

I am a pure player... right now my only stat is 61 range. Training wise, I was wondering what ammo to use? I hear great things about broad bolts and bronze knives.

I know I need 55 slayer for broad bolts, I'm not close yet, only 31, but I'm working on that.

My question is, which do people prefer to train range with, broad bolts or bronze knives? I won't be training on yaks or anything as I am pure. Probably training on king lathas ogres. Please give me your opinions.

I know when i start to train range i plan on using broad bolts, but it probably depends on the what im going to kill, but more then likely it will be broad bolts. If i ever get in a hurry to get range levels, possibly buy chins and use those, but thats going to cost quite a bit of gp's.

Bronze bolts are your best bet for training.

In general, fast, not very high hitting weapons > slow, high hitting weapons for training, and bronze bolts are perfect for ogres. You should only be using cbows for aviansies, or other high level monsters. When you're training on a low level monster with low def, bronze bolts are much better.

Epic typo.

To clear it up he means bronze knifes.

Pureprayer, you're awesome.

The problem with bronze knives is that there aren't any good spots to use them.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

Like he said in his original post, he might train at the Lathas Training Grounds, which I did until I found out about yaks.

The knives are cheap, and usually you'll get enough ranarr/snapdragon seed drops from the ogres at the training grounds to pay for them.

If I use ring of wealth will that help for seeds? and should i train accurate or rapid?

ROW only affects rare drops me thinks, and rapid is better.

Okay I was just wondering if it could increase ranarr seed drops I guess it can't.
