March 13, 200917 yr Whoa whoa whoa, I've done extensive tests on both and my answer is Cockroach Soldiers. Why? It's mainly because of the roaches' drop table being more consistent in their drops. They both drop Crimson charms equally well, but you'll most likely make more money that doesn't go into Summoning from roaches. Simply use the noted mithril and adamantite ores that they drop to buy your shards. This leaves you with only having to worry about raising funds to buy the secondary ingredients. Dust devils may have an extremely slim chance at Dragon chainmail, but their drops just aren't as consistent as roaches for the Summoner. Click Here for a Common Sense Dungeoneering Guide

Even if money isn't an issue, it helps a lot in the long run, and the charms aren't as spread out as Dust devils, being more focused on Crimsons. The experience isn't that bad either. I notice you can use bunyips, and one bunyip pouch at Roaches usually gets me around 30 Crimsons with more than enough money to pay for the levels. Click Here for a Common Sense Dungeoneering Guide

The melee xp from dust devils is much greater then cockroaches. Ydrasil has rates of 90k+ melee xp there at his stats. Pureprayer, you're awesome.
March 13, 200917 yr IMO dust devils are very overrated for their crimson charms. The rate is lower than 1/3 but higher than 1/4. I recently did a test on cockroaches and I came out that it should be possible to get around 50 crimsons an hour there. I think the number for dusties is pretty similar. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h!

March 13, 200917 yr With the exception of a possible Dragon chain the Cockroaches have better drops than Dusties. the charm rate seems to be about the same but I usually go to Roaches rather than Dusties, when not at Waterfiends, because I can go there with Suzi.
