March 14, 200917 yr Hello there. I'm sick sk8er 1, a not so often poster on the tip.it forums but some of you may have seen my useless topics that died after 3 or 4 posts. This is just a quick question... I've been training my combat stats (attack, strength, defence) pretty much evenly all the way upto 90. After 90 I wasn't sure what to do, so i've ben training my attack only and am currently 92... Should I train to 99 and then work strength or defence or should I carry on working them evenly? What are the pro's and con's of both? 99 Slayer, I don't have it yet. But it'll come.
March 14, 200917 yr IMO its better to train them all evenly. Im currently busy training my Atk and Def 1 level at a time till i reach 99. **Thanks to Boo_Boy666 for my amazing Singnature**[hide=Slaytanicc's Achievments]|99Cooking achieved 24Dec 2008|99Strength achieved 17Feb 2009|99Hit Points achieved 8April 2009||99Defense achieved 29May 2009|99Attack achieved 2August 2009|99Ranged achieved 14August 2009|[/hide][hide=Guides by Slaytanicc]Aviansie Maging + Ranging Guide (Must Read!!)Iron Mining + Banking GuideGreen Dragons GuideAnkou Slaying Guide[/hide]
March 14, 200917 yr It's best to train them all evenly, I've always regretted keeping Def at 60. Besides, it eases up the grind if you train different skills. Get back here so I can rub your butt.
March 14, 200917 yr Theoretically, getting 99 in attack and strength, will lessen the time it takes to get 99 defence.
March 15, 200917 yr ^In practice, doing that requires using the sara sword when you could've used a whip the whole time. Though if you're using Dharok's, which is superior to whip against many training monsters, it won't be problem. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

However, training on controlled doesn't let you use the stats as early as training them individually, therefore it will STILL be faster training them separately. No numbers, no proof. The whip is superior to sara sword so it would seem that controlled is best. Of course, my view is not proven fact either. Whip+Defender is only somewhat faster than SS. SS can train Strength at 3x the rate of Whip. And since you hit higher with every level's xp instead of 3 level's xp (controlled gives 1/3 xp of normal training) you get the benefit of higher levels FASTER than controlled. Compfreak incoming.
