Some more Slayer Questions!

Well i've always though of getting my Attack and Defence to 99just by killing ankou, but the other day i started doing Slayer a bit more "intensly" and i've really started to like it. I have decided that i might just get my Slayer level to 90 and hopefully get my Ranged to 95+, Defence and attakc both the 99 and maybe even my Magic to 85+ while getting 90 Slayer. My questions are:

 

 

 

1.)Which Slayer task should i not waste my time with (in other words, which should i block)?.

 

 

 

2.) Should i continue using Slayer Master Duradel?

 

 

 

3.) How many tasks would it take me, more or less, to get to 90 Slayer? (i know this is a hard one to guess, but any educated estimate would help).

 

 

 

4.) Will it be worht the time getting to 90? (Are Abyssal Demons, Spiritual Mages and Dark Beasts good money makers?)

 

 

 

5.) What are the essential Slayer Items, Weapons and Armour i should have?

 

 

 

6.) Which tasks should be Ranged, which should be Maged, and which should i Melee? (Where should i and shouldn't i use a cannon?)

 

 

 

7.) Will i be able to profit alot on my way to 90 Slayer?

 

 

 

8.) Anything else i should know that might help me with my goal?

1.) I suggest blocking slow tasks or task you especially don't like. (steel dragons, wyverns,...)

 

 

 

2.) Duradel is still the best master, but if you want to range the tasks try using Sumona as she gives more rangable tasks.

 

 

 

3.) I have no idea about this one ^^.

 

 

 

4.) Training slayer up is definitely worth it, the best moneymaker of these three are Spiritual mages. Abyssal demons and Dark beasts are decent if you have some luck :3

 

 

 

5.) The best melee armor you can afford + whip and maybe a SGS for healing :D Also get a bunch of super sets, bunyip pouches, prayer potions and some monkfish. Teleport runes& items, karamja gloves 3, slayer ring... :)

 

 

 

6.) If you want to train range, range those tasks which you won't find boring to range. Melee everything! :D If you really want to train mage: iron and steel dragons worked for me.

 

 

 

7.) Slayer is quite a profitable skill, but don't expect to get money very fast. It adds up.. Picking up all the coins, gems, runes, herbs, rune items... from tasks and rewards from clue scrolls will get you a nice amount of coins. Adding the unique drops -> -> -> YOU ARE GOING TO BE RICH! :lol:

 

 

 

8.) Don't give up too fast. If you run into a boring task or you get bored for any other reason, try doing something else for a while and then return to slaying. If you wish, you can also do farm runs between tasks; some herbs make excellent money AND experience.

 

 

 

some notes:

 

- try doing some quests and get "barrows"/"dark" gloves from Recipe for disaster quest, they are the best for EVERYTHING :)

 

- do(at least) karamja achievement diary for karamja gloves 3; free teleport to shilo village for easy access to Duradel

 

- read forums, watch movies/tv shows to not get bored

 

- get summoning up to 68 for bunyip! Much better choice than guthans :)

steels, skeletal wyverns, black dragons, warped terrorbirds and tortoises ive blocked scarabites becuase they are just annoying and kaliphites and these are always crowded

duradel is good, but if you find it too hard sumona is also good.

they arent consistent moneymakers but the drops make up for them

what you have will do but maybe get some high def combos like dharocks plate and torags legs.

range things like hellhounds and black demons, if you dont block irons then range them, however most tasks can be ranged, i personally havent maged a task, and all tasks can be meleed. kaliphites, black dragons and daggonaths can all be cannoned easily.

maybe 300-400k a lvl with no amazing drops.

always use super strs and atts.

 

when it is possible to use the chaos tunnels do.

 

dont get bogged down in tasks if you dont like it or it is taking to long skip it.

 

always save a few points to skip tasks

No such thing as a good estimate here, you could get in a loop, several mith dragon tasks, or get great tasks

Abyssal demons are the best, its worth it if you want all 99's or you like the skill

Black mask, barrows, barrows gloves, dragon boots, whip, ss, rune defender, and prossy. Along with other common sense items

Almost no tasks maged, nearly all tasks can be ranged/meleed

3. My friend is on his 400+ tasks and is 93 so take around 50-75 off depending on your level atm.

Iron and steel dragons. The other 2 are up to you, I have hellhounds (no drops or charms) and warped terrorbirds in addition to those. The terrorbirds are the most annoying things ever. Irons and steels are just too slow

Yes.

From 83, about 200-250. Work from there.

The mages are good, the others, well, aren't. Their drops are too rare.

Whip + rune defender, barrows armour, slayer mask/helmet, dragon boots, proselyte armour for pray tasks. Oh and a fury.

No maging or ranging, melee everything. Cannon as often as you can, Dagannoths and Kalphite are the fastest tasks. Suqahs and Scarabites are a lot easier with a cannon as well. ABerrants are good cannon stuff as well.

A zamorak spear/ sara sword for waterfiends help. Also, get karils top and bottom for amge def

Get full ranged void. It's great for safe-spottable tasks, as defense isn't needed that much.

- have around 780ish tasks at 99. so maybe around 300-400

- Mages are ok money, no summon exp. Abyssals are decent cash decent summon exp. Bests are good slayer exp but not worth fighting off task

- personal opinion, Melee all tasks until you wish to train range. Cannon daggonoths, abberants, and bloodvelds if you done that quest. I dont personnaly cannon in single combat areas

 

 

 

7.) Will i be able to profit alot on my way to 90 Slayer? - Profits pick up around 80, get good after 85. You will make a decent profit

Dragon Legs - crap, use prossy legs, or a verac skirt

 

Fighter Torso - pure crap. Use a prossy top

 

Dragon Scimitar - Horrible. Use a whip.

 

Rune Defender - yes use this. dont get a dfs, it fails for slayer

 

 

 

Ring - Wealth on abyssals, zerker on everything else

 

 

 

with your large prayer bonus, you will be using 10% str prayer on all your tasks, far surpassing torso in damage. Sgs is nice but not needed. Use dds for spec I suppose, or maybe an ancient mace, not sure how much prayer it would give you, but could save a bit maybe

Black Dragon Hide Body - FAIL Get void if your serious about slaying 99 range

Ring of Wealth - Archers ring since your using void, wealth on abyssals, or else use explore ring 3

If you dont want to use a void set up. and dont wanna use arma use this:

 

Verac Helm with dhide, white boots, lummy ring 3, zammy book, fury. This gives 16 pray bonus, use 10% range pray on tasks. also use barrows gloves then.

 

 

 

Tank everything you range, much faster exp that way. High summoning helps for this so I suggest doing range last

It's easier to get to on task then some of the other isolated areas. The charm drop rates there are slightly higher then in other places, unless they got changed recently. When you get to higher summoning lvls its a good place to bring combat familiars if you don't need to heal as much or you're using guthans to heal.
