One thing that the Announcements, Rules, and Security Warnings thread is missing is an official sticky for the Signature and Avatar sizes. It takes some time to search around the list for the most recent avatar or signature changes to make sure that your sig or avatar is within the forum guidelines. Having a sticky would make it much easier to find. I know that there are already a large number of stickies in the forum, but I believe this is worth a place up top.

 

 

 

Also, on the avatar file size post (here: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=769515), it would be helpful to have the 20KB size converted to regular Bytes, so that when users look at their file size (which is normally displayed in bytes I believe, atleast mine is), they can immediatly check if theirs is within the forum rules, rather than guessing how many bytes are in a KB.

I wouldn't have a problem with a sticky. It would be nice to have all of the signature and avatar information in one place. However, on the other hand, we do already have a TON of stickies in that forum, many of which do contain signature and avatar information. There is an entire section in the Tip.it Forum Rules that discusses signature and avatar sizes and what kind of content is allowed and disallowed. But again, if no one has a problem with the huge amount of stickies in the Announcements forum, I wouldn't mind creating a new sticky dedicated to signatures and avatars.

Don't you only have 7 stickies in that forum? The rest are just topics. I think it would be quite good to have one sticky to summarise both avatar and signature limitations because it's just easier instead of having to go through all the topics that talk about the avatar/signature size increasing etc.

I think this is a great idea, the post i always go back to is the last update on signature sizes, and i don't even know how far i would have to search to find the latest avatar changes, one sticky would make it all a hell of a lot easier.
