Scarabite task

I know most people would say to skip them, but I have 40 of them and don't want to waste points if possible. What inventory and equipment should I use, I have about a mil to spend if I saw it beneficial for more than this task, any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Cannon works miracles. Support with melee, pray mage. Costly, but fast.

 

 

 

I do them at the statue (not in the dungeon) because it is a little bit less hectic. In the dungeon you'll get faster kills.

There is a spot in the sw corner of the dungeon, where only melee scarabs can reach you. Set up your cannon there and pray melee. Task done in ten minutes, plus twenty crimson charms, and maybe a rune drop.

Suggested inventory-

 

 

 

A teleport

 

Dragon dagger(p++)

 

Holy wrench

 

Tinderbox

 

Bullseye lantern (lit)

 

1 energy potion

 

Cannon and Cannonballs

 

2 super attacks or Zamorak brews

 

2 super strength

 

4-7 prayer pots

 

Food in extra space

Once ready, go down the ladder from the bank. Run west, avoiding/disabling the [bleep]e traps, and go down the ladder. Turn on Protect from Magic, then run south a few steps, then run northwest until you reach another ladder, and go up it. Go south avoiding wall traps, pitfalls, and pushers, and go down the ladder.

 

 

 

If you fall in a pit, then you will appear in the room you need to be in. If that happens, just run south.

 

 

 

Set up your cannon one square west and five squares north of the ladder and stand one square west of cannon base. Notice that only melee locusts will attack you because you are south of the "roaming" range of the mages. Therefore, your cannon will kill rangers and mages far out in the room, but they will not attack you. Only go north into the range of the Scarab Mages if you see good drops like crimson charms, since they can hit hard and also extinguish your lantern (that's what the tinderbox is for).

 

 

 

Although the Scabarites in this location may seem hard to get too, it actually can take under two minutes to get from Sophanem bank to the correct location. Once I knew the correct path, I was able to get from the bank screen in Sophanem to the correct location, with my cannon set up, in 105 seconds.

Cannon is great! This helps sooo much! Your right, its it not worth wasting points to cancel them.

If you don't wish to buy a cannon, there is a good spot that I use to kill them for it's relative cheapness.

 

 

 

I go to the old Ullek ruins where the High Priest of Scabaras is. Yes, it's far from a bank, but if you're only doing 40 you can do it no problem.

 

 

 

There are a few rooms and adjoining tunnels where only melee and rangers go. You can kill them at a decent rate there. Just be careful because it's multi combat as well, and turn off your auto-retaliate or the rangers will pull you into the big room with the mages in them.

 

 

 

Oh, and no light source is needed there.
