pkthedreamer
I just got members today. First time in three years. So I will be updating this as I have a lot of questions. First, what is the best way for range training? Iron knives or rune crossbow? Answered: I will be using iron knives and a zammy book to train range. In what order should I hunt things? Like what the hunt at what levels? Answered: Thank you to Ddraiggoch06's guide. What is some good armor I should be using for melee? I am currently using Guthans but I don't know if there is any better nonbarrow armor that I should be utilizing. What would be a good melee set up? 200. Pilipod
its debatable what method is faster for range, bonus of the knives is you get to use a shield. and what is a fairy ring i dont think such an item exists.
pkthedreamer
So if I use iron knives, should I use a zammy book with it? And the fairy ring to teleport places. I need all my teleport things back I forgot where everything is. 200.
Pilipod
yeah zammy book would be a good choice. you dont actually own a fairy ring, they are dotted around on the ground all over runescape. you need either a dramen staff or a lunar staff obtained in lost city and lunar diplomacy quests respectively. just read the quest guide on how to reobtain it. you also need to do fairy tale part 2 to use the rings. pureprayer
Msb SUCKS. Rune C Bow is better. Get 55 slayer for broad bolts. Pureprayer, you're awesome.
pkthedreamer
So Rune Cbow with broad bolts instead of iron knives? 200.
pureprayer
So Rune Cbow with broad bolts instead of iron knives? No rune c bow + broad bolts > MSB. Iron knives for training, although you could train on aviansies and spend the money on chinchompas. Pureprayer, you're awesome.
RuneAge
If your looking for fast hits/fast kills then by all means, go for knifes, but if your taking a more calm approach to it then use a Rune c'bow, personally, i trained on the cage ogres from 60-70 range, but that was a long time ago now. mister_moocky
Iron knives and rune crossbows with broad bolts are about the same xp/h. For hunting: Crimson swifts Coppter longtails (2x traps at 20 or 30, I forget) Swamp lizards (3x traps at 40) Falconry (spotted kebbits) Grey chinchompas Orange salamanders (4x traps at 60) Red chinchompas until 99 The catches are slow until falconry, so bring alchs. There are 2 decent guides in the AOW's general guide subforum, I suggest reading one. quit

NoobelPrize
Besides Guthan's, the other melee barrow armour is quite good for defence bonuses. (Guthan's is fine I suppose, but why would you use it unless it was for it's ability.)
lordkafei
So if I use iron knives, should I use a zammy book with it? ... If you are going to be using safe spots, sure - why choose defense over offense when you can't be hit? So if I use iron knives, should I use a zammy book with it? ... If you are going to be using safe spots, sure - why choose defense over offense when you can't be hit? Yeah you're right. pkthedreamer
I just thought of another question.. Which is better? Iron knives or rune cbow with broad bolts, or bone cbow with bone bolts? And does it depend what I'm training on, or is it all the same? For example, which would be better to use on aviansies? 200.
Vezon Dash
What does your cashpile look like? If it looks tall then look into buying bandos. (I know its overrated, but it is still good.)
pkthedreamer
I have around 38m. It isn't that much so I don't know about bandos. Actually, I literally don't know about bandos. What are the benefits? 200.

pkthedreamer
Ok thanks, I might look into that. Do you know which type of range weapon I should use when training? 200.
Vezon Dash
Rune crossbow with broad-tipped bolts, and/or bronze/iron knives with full void and zammy book.
pkthedreamer
So no bone crossbow with bone bolts? And if I don't use full void with iron knives, rune cbow is better? 200.
pureprayer
So no bone crossbow with bone bolts? And if I don't use full void with iron knives, rune cbow is better? Void + Knives is no. Pureprayer, you're awesome.

Well, besides training at bandits, I can't think of any situation where you would need to carry around Guthan's, and if you did, just carry another weapon. Wilmot
I'd strongly suggest rune xbow + broad bolts over iron knives. With knives you hit 10s, with broad bolts 25. And, xbow is much more accurate. Bone bolts are a complete no go. For melee armour, I like to have one set of high def barrows armour (ie torags or a mix of high def pieces) and a high attack set (eg fighter torso, bandos tassets, fremmenik helm). I seldom use a full barrow set though.
pkthedreamer
I like using guthans for some slayer tasks so I don't have to bank for food. And yeah, my melee set up right now is berserker helm, glory, guthans top, guthans skirt, dragon boots, rune defender, and whip. Thank you all for the range help. I used rune xbow and almost cried when I hit 25, I thought I was seeing things. I only bought bone xbow and bolts because of the aviansies guide I read. In other news.. Why does it say I have to pay 900k for my crystal bow? I used crystal bow a lot before I quit and the recharge was only 180k. Did it reset or something? Thank you for everyone's help so far. 200.
