I'm pretty sure the minimum healing per spec for the SGS is 20, so the minimum per 5 minutes is 40hp, PLUS you get prayer. On some tasks, depending on your equipment, it gives you enough prayer to keep superhuman strength on without, or with very little, prayer potions.

No, the minimum healing for a spec is 10, and if you hit a 0, you might not get anything (I've been there enough times). Also, 1/4th of the damage you do is added to prayer, though usually you can't use just that for superhuman strength, you'll need a few prayer potions, but it is quite useful.

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.

Really? I could've sworn... #-o

Either way, SGS has a much better potential since you can heal for what you hit. For personal experience, I rarely miss. As long as you hit over a 10 on each spec, which really isn't hard, SGS > Bunyip.

Although, bunyip is a lot cheaper, so I would agree when you say get bunyip first.

[hide=To the man who said items > skills]It's true that people see the items more than skills in-game. But you can lose items so easily. What if you lag and die? What if you get hacked? What if the price of the item falls so much that it's worthless (looking at d med right now)? What if it's replaced by a better item? What if it becomes so common it's not impressive anymore? Items fluctuate so easily, and you can lose them in a flash. But the ONLY way you can lose your skills is if you get banned, and ONLY Jagex has that authority, while the item market is dictated by thousands of players and huge clans, with a little nudge here and there by Jagex.

Besides, you can't take your money everywhere. I own a few rares, but if I go to GoP, where you can't wear anything on your head, I'll look the same as any other guy.

Also, your answered your own question, so to speak, with the skill capes. The ultimate goal of any skill is to max it out at 200m or at least get 99. And plus, the skill capes are so cheap, who cares if you lose it? 99k to show off your hard earned work? That sounds like a great deal to me, a lot better than carrying around a partyhat that everything, even those leather boots, protects over.[/hide]

That is a good argument. However, I can state that raising most skills is a boring and repetitive task. With items, you can acess more game areas, with so much more to do and see, and if you're good enough, get you more money like the end-game dungeons and bosses.

But you can access the same, if not more, area on account of your skills. After all, you don't NEED good items to do slayer, but you NEED 60 strength/agility to get in. If your team is good enough, or your stats are, you don't need a fancy godsword, since a whip will do. You won't need bandos or armadyl either, since barrows is more than enough.

Those are items, but we're talking about expensive items v. high level skills here.

Plus, those few places where you need high level items , once you don't have that item that location is closed to you. But if a location requires a skill, you can't possibly say, "oops, gotta turn back. I left my agility skill in the bank".

Good items make for a better gameplay experience. They improve effectiveness in the fun areas of the game, like in most minigames and boss hunting. Of course you might consider raising skills fun, but that depends majorly on the skill and you'll ultimately be doing the same thing over and over again.

Skills may allow you to do certain quests, or enter certain areas, but overall you don't need to raise them as high as 70, 80 or 99 to enjoy those features of the game.

Items are not that easy to lose, unless you are PvPing, or soloing a boss. Most expensive items are covered by the 3 items on death rule anyway.

And in the same way, you won't need items since you can just borrow them.

Items are easy to lose compared to skills. The fact remains that you can't lose your skills, they are here to stay.

You may not need 99, but you still need a high level in that skill. This is between high level items v high level skills, not high level items v skill capes. I said that skill capes were the ultimate goal of any skill, but I never said that skill capes were the only reason to train them.
