Well, i wanted it to be yoda, but it ended up more like a fat guy dressed for comicon (sp?).

Not bad, but it's looking very flat. You need to lay down more shades, or blend in the ones you currently have.

Your edges are a little bumpy, so I'd have to guess this is a WIP?

The mouth..? It looks like an emboss, not really drawn lips. :|

And the detail is lacking, if you havn't already I'd suggest making it at a large size (to make details/etc. MUCH easier) and then resize the final down to easy viewing size.

Anyways, great start. Hope to see more :D

PS: You should check out this thread (a tutorial on nearly every other page, they are all good..)

again try u must. crap mega is it. do, there is no try.

I got a laugh out of that.

Though I think it would be closer to...

try again you must. Mega _______ it is. There is no try. Do, or do not.

As to the paiting. All is not lost yet. You have good placement of shadows. Deepen those and give more light tones on top. This actually looks like stage one or two of some of mine.

In the future, before you shade, make sure you get the shape first just in one tone. Then go in and really bring out the shading.

Keep working at it ! it is great fun.

It looks fine, actually. Just keep painting on top adding more and more detailed layers... alot of people expect that you can just put 1 or 2 layers of color down and expect to either be good or not. Which is not the case...

you seem to have go the essentials for the shape and shading, just need to add some deeper shadow tones, some birghter highlight tones and alter tones so they dun have such big jumps between tones. aka instead of like under eyes dark onto light do dark then put bit plaer round tht. then another plaer bit then the light tone so it blends together

I'm gonna be blunt - it looks a bit crap, but it's not crap, if you know what i mean. Wouldn't exactely make for star wars promo posters, but you've definately got the general shape, colour, complexion and everything in the right place. It just doesn't look a lot like yoda, which is probably its most negative point, but you're showing definate potential. Keep working on it, it can only get better :)
