Would it be worth buying baskets of apples and paying the farmer to look after my willows? Or should I just use supercompost?

I'm gonna say supercompost would be better, considering buying baskets of apples through the GE never happens, I've tried.

In essence to the above post, apples would be the better option I guess.

You can also buy baskets from farming shop then buy the apples from RFD chest.

With willows you can make about 3k per fully grown tree, so its better to pay the 1k and make 2k profit then loss the seed and the profit.

I won't be cutting branches. Would it still be worth it?

Sure. As long as your makiing money elsewhere to make up for the loss.

 

 

 

 

 

What it does is make it so you dont gotta worry about the crops. So the time wasted doing crop checks is something you dont gotta do. That extra 5 min could easily get you 10 hides at green drags.

I usually make all the money back + some profit by farming herbs :).

Dunno. but apples prove worht it. You get profits with the branches so it pays for itself.

I never use apples, I;ve planted at least 50 willows so far and with only supercompost I;ve lost around 5, so say around 10% die.

Basically, always pay for anything up to and including maples. Dont pay for yews/magics

 

For fruit trees pay up to papaya, dont pay for palms.
