gorgoroth
Well i realise that with Mage, the higher your level the better your defence against Mage. So i have 75 Magic ATM. I seem to be doind okay when i Solo Bandos (usually get 2kills per trip) but i feel that i struggle to get the second kill. I feel i'm risking it. Steel Will hits 35's on me often, so with a higher mage level, will i get hit less often? Will i get hit for less? Say i get my Mage to level 90, will i be better off. **New Question** Okay so had a look at the String Jewelery Guide. Ir seems the only way to make that effective is by having the Summer's End Quest completed. I am in NO mood for any more quests, specially not one as hard as Summer's End. Are there any other ways to get to 85 or 90 Magic. If i still use sting Jewelery will i loose alot of money? What about Humidifying? I hear that makes profit, but how fast is it? Any other fast/cheap metods i can use? PLEASE NOTE: I will not Alch, I find it verrrrrrrrry boring, so please dont suggest that. **Thanks to Boo_Boy666 for my amazing Singnature**[hide=Slaytanicc's Achievments]|99Cooking achieved 24Dec 2008|99Strength achieved 17Feb 2009|99Hit Points achieved 8April 2009||99Defense achieved 29May 2009|99Attack achieved 2August 2009|99Ranged achieved 14August 2009|[/hide][hide=Guides by Slaytanicc]Aviansie Maging + Ranging Guide (Must Read!!)Iron Mining + Banking GuideGreen Dragons GuideAnkou Slaying Guide[/hide]

JoeDaStudd
Neit Helm Torags Chest torags Legs D Boots Barrows Gloves Fury Whip Rune Def Berserker ring... This is why. The either the top or bottoms should always focused for magic defense. Wear Karils or black dhide top or bottoms. Also which cape are you using? About the actual magic level 80+ is a standard recommendation, but 70+ and karils top or bottoms should be fine. Dire_Wolf
Magic level for Bandos is 80. That's suitable level. Now since there is discussing of equipment i will tell that too. So here's equipment: The equipment is from my view the best one, it gives great magical defense and melee/ranged defense. As well it is not cheap but nor expensive. Karil top has alot more magical defense and +2 more ranged defense than black dragonhide top. So it will help more.. Torag's helm>Verac's helm Amulet of fury>Amulet of glory Karil's top>Black dragonhide top Bandos tassets>Torag's leg Dragon boots Fire cape>Trimmed skillcape>Skillcape/Obsidian cape Barrow gloves>Dragon gloves>Rune gauntlets Ring of wealth Abyssal whip and Rune defender Special Weapon: BGS>AGS>Enchanced Excalibur>Dragon claw>Dragon halberd Bandos and Zamorak item for KC: 1. Granite mace/Ancient mace. You do not need to equip them when you are getting KC though, only when your gonna go through Bandos stronghold. 2. Zamorak robe top/bottom, Unholy symbol - All of them are very very cheap.

Dire_Wolf
1-3 is for players with levels a bit over average. 1-3 means they can get lucky and get a 3 kill, but that's luck. 2-4 is for players with levels that is very high, and them getting a 4 kill is uncommon but not rare. If you get 80 magic, you will have more defense so it will make you safer. But 80 is a start, so i would aim for 85 magic if you are gonna solo alot. This is from Knowledgebase What affects my Magic Defence? Magic Defence depends on your Magic skill level, Defence level and equipment you are wearing. The higher your skill levels and Magic bonus, the less likely you are to get hit. You will also receive less damage from a spell.

Cptbaker08
A note on selling the Strung Amulets after casting the spell, you could always try to find someone that can sell them back to the rouge for the GE mid-price. The only real loss on Stringing are the cost of the astral runes and however much over the GE mid-price you buy the amulets for. But you need 80 magic to cast the spell so you could always try to humidify up to 80 then string after that. Dire_Wolf
The only thing that i can come up with for magic leveling that i myself done is this: 1) Bursting Rock Lobsters - 40M+ used so not a option for you 2) Alchemy - not a option 3) Fire bolt at Giant rock crabs - decent experience, and cheap cost. Worth a try.

Dire_Wolf
Well here's what i did. I bought runes and equip highest magical attack equipment. Ahrim that is, as well used "Chaos gauntlets", and from there i went and killed them. 1) They have lame accuracy, believe me they do! 2) If you die it's only 2minute run from edge! 3) You can do what everyone calls "AFK" but it's not AFK. It is paying less attention. Try it m8.

Dire_Wolf
Runescape wiki text about Chaos gauntlets: Johnathon is the brother of Caleb and Avan and one of the sons of Dimintheis Fitzharmon. Johnathon plays a role in the Family Crest quest and he is located upstairs in the Jolly Boar Inn, poisoned by a group of spiders after retreating from a fight against Chronozon, a demon. After the player brings him an Anti-poison potion, he tells the player that in order to beat Chronozon, the player must cast all four Blast spells at least once. After the quest is complete, he offers to enchant the Family gauntlets into Chaos gauntlets, which increase the maximum damage of all Bolt spells (and not Blast Spells) by three. If the gauntlets are already imbued with another power, Johnathon will ask for 25,000 coins to enchant them. Johnathon is at the pub near the lumberyard. I have been there before, but i am 99% sure he is there.
JoeDaStudd
With the rock crabs there are tons of safespots and as long as you don't walk/run over or near the others you can only get one at a time. IMO there drops are too bad to make them worth while. Avainsies with slayer dart or gauntlets are another option and its at least break even. Plus your've got a lot of experience there so won't run into much trouble. Actually my mate tried this with gauntlets and he made a slight profit and this is the exact way I'm gonna level my mage higher a bit since I have tons of chaos runes sitting in my bank. You should definitely try this

Dagonhai can be used also but then you loose 29 magical attack bonus for 4 prayer bonus. Ahrim hood, top, bottom Amulet of fury Saradomin god cape Infinity boots Chaos gauntlets Explorer ring (+1 Prayer and Magic attack bonus) Unholy book (+5 Prayer) Void Knight Mace (+6 Prayer) Use bunyip and prayer and kill the avansies at the entrance to Armadyl stronghold. Use mostly prayer though.
