Ranging exp rates

I'm currently 84 ranging and would like to get 99 in a reasonable amount of time but have no idea what that is like for ranging with out chinning.

Whats the approximate exp rates for- Dust devils, Black demons, is their anything other then yaks that gets good exp?

Would be getting 70 70 then using guthans and cannoning lighthouse dagganoths or normal ranging be faster when you factor in the time taken to get money for cannon balls?

I would like to see alot of peoples opinions here.

Cannoning trolls north of Jatizso usually breaks even or profits. Either that or you get a very very very unlucky inventory.

Err, Soulwars can and will top Yaks for 'best grinding xp' in Runescape for I think its 50k.

Yaks are 45k?

Green dragon tank-kniving is decent xp and awesomer money. Black dragon safe-ranging is OK if you have good enough equiptment and dont get bumped by people.

Tried aviansies yet? You only need a few more def levels to get a great amount from them. 70 is good, but 75 is recommended.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Prayer method and tanking method at aviansies are both awesome ways to make money and train range.

There are many alternatives, such as Yaks, Fire Giants, Thzaar monsters, using Chinchompas, and as Ray said, Soul Wars is awesome. You get full exp for fighting and then you can use zeal for more exp, sort of how like Pest Control used to be.

Goals:

94 magic

94 ranged

55 slayer

Addy gloves-done

If you're going to cannon, cannon ice trolls. Something like 60k ranged xp per hour if you ranged along with your cannon, and you profit a little.

If you want to get the best results in the long run and have money, cannon black demons for the huge amount of crimsons you will get. Between the cannon and the summoning, it won't be cheap, but it'll help you most in the big scheme of things.

You'd get more xp at Ice Trolls and profit as well. Only upside to Black Demons are the huge amount of crimsons you will get.

You'd cannon them in Taverly. You'd set up your cannon near the staglemite safespot and range away.

For dusties use bronze knives/zammy book. From 93-99 range I got 45k xp/h max. So maybe 35k/h for you.

For Black demons use broad bolts/zammy book. Maybe like 25k xp/h?

Aviansies are the way to go. If you want to cannon probably scabarites or ice trolls.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

I've tried aviansies but i dont like it at my low stats and I'm not training prayer.

You could try Zogres, but I'm not sure how good that would be, or if you could cannon.

How much are you willing to spend, exactly?

You could also attempt to cannon mutated bloodvelds if you have the quests and slayer level,

I have about 7m and i sold everything about 9-10m so i would probaly be willing to spend all of that to get 99 fast cause i can just make more money.

And im not sure if i want to get above 55 slayer for now.

I believe bloodvelds are 50 slayer, or something.

However, you'd told me you don't want to up prayer. That's a problem because while mutant velds are great xp, you need to finish most of Legacy of Seergaze, a quest line that involves a lot of prayer.

With your budget, you should probably stick to dagannoth at the lighthouse, since you don't want to pray. You could try fire giants if you want to change it up a bit, but Dags remain your best bet. You could bring guthans, but you could also use b2p and buy the different drinks at the Lighthouse general store (they lower melee stats, which isn't a problem for rangers). But still, it would take a rather long time and you'll grow a few gray hairs from people flaming you, not to mention the world hopping you may need to do in order to compete.

But since you only have 9m, I wouldn't consider black demons.

B2p would seem hard to do especialy if i pick up drops so i think i'll either get guthans or just max short trips with food.

It would be hard, yes, but if you do it right it wouldn't slow down your xp.

I'd probably recommend against Guthans because it slows down your xp. Try bringing those bolts-that-drain-health? I'm not sure what they're name is lol, or how expensive they are. But it's worth a consideration.

You'll find that you won't need guthans, either. In fact, you can even leave your cannon down there, bank for food, and come back in time with fresh supplies.

k, ill probaly try b2p and the bolts that heal you are onyx last time i checked they were 7-9k and have a chance you heal you for 1/4th of your hit.

i found Armoured Zombies to be quite good. Just use void and steel knives. 45 - 50k exp an hour with 125 - 140k cash.

If you where praying which you probably were then my exp rates would be much lower.

Yeah i was using 10% Prayer. I just went back to Armoured Zombies this morning with Black Knives. I did 2hours and ended up with 110k exp. So im sure that if you pot up, pray and use Black Knives you could get about 45k an hour.

He's 1 pray, I believe, and doesn't want to raise it. If you have prayer though, you're better off at Ice Trolls.
