The Hunt for Gollum

Just wanted to put out a link and a discussion for a great new Lord of the Rings fan film.

Great, and even though perhaps it lacks some of Tolkien's amazing prose, it is still an excellent stab at an important part of the storyline that he didn't discuss, and the graphics and terrain of the story are second to none, with characters and fights almost identical to the original movies.

~What did you think of it?

~What do you think could have been done to make it better?

I'll add some pics and links, maybe vids when I have time.

It looks pretty dang good for an independent film.

WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME

#1 Wongtong stalker.

Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!

Yeah, doesn't look bad considering it's fans that are making it. I doubt I'll see it, though. I'm Rings'd out. Maybe if I have about an hour of free time I'll watch it.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

If I remember correctly, it's only 40 mins long. And yea, I must just be a bigger nerd than you, lol.

I think this could become something amazing if given access to a budget over $3000, which is what it was according to an article (Article is under 'Press'). I agree with you completely that the biggest flaw was the scripts. Had there been a touch from Tolkien, I think that would have made so much of a difference. Either way a good watch, and let me get into some of the back story. One thing I want to know...

[hide=SPOILER!]Is this actually based on canon material, or simply another fan fic? If it is canon for the most part, and Gollum is captured in the end, can anyone tell me how he escaped/was released?[/hide]

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

[hide=Spoiler]They did hunt down Gollum, and he escaped when the elves of Murkwood allowed him to climb up a tree, which he enjoyed, after which at one point he refused to come down. Orcs then attacked, and Gollum escaped. Legolas brought the news to Gandalf.[/hide]

That's as I remember it.

[hide=Spoiler]Yeah, thats how it happened. Except most of the Orcs were slain and Gollum escaped during the confusion. Plus, if I remember rightly, its "Mirkwood".[/hide]

Ugg, a late edit, I need to pay more attention.
