Armored Zombies and Planks for Construction

I am currently going for 80 construction after i get a big fish.

 

 

 

To get to 80 I need 1,465,472 xp which is 24,425 oak planks.

 

 

 

I'm going to be using SC hammers so I'll need approximately 12.2k planks, and around 28 hammers I believe (not sure on this number).

 

 

 

That'd cost around 5.3M. However, I figured that I might as well collect some myself at a monster that coincidentally gives great xp.

 

 

 

So does anyone know what the oak drop rates are for Armored Zombies? If it'd take too long to collect all the planks I need I might only do half and buy the other half or figure something out.

 

 

 

Also, if anyone has any tips for my construction goal, it would be appreciated. I mainly want 78 which I could achieve with 75 construction and gilded shelves but 80 is a good solid number so I am aiming for that instead.

It'd be faster to make money however you do and just buy the planks.

Are you also looking to get higher cb lvls, because if so it's a way to do both at once. But if you're looking to get construction up as quickly as possible then yes, just earn money and buy the planks.

Yeah, I'd like some combat xp as well.

 

 

 

Does anyone know their drop rate? Like maybe how many oak planks an hour? The other drops I'll sell and use to buy more oak planks so I don't have to stay there forever.

It's not that great. They drop oak planks in quantities of five but it's not that often. In about 2-3 hours I only managed about 240 planks. Armoured zombies give good combat xp though, but it won't really help your construction. Although, they also drop regular planks and teak planks, if you want those.

Ah dang it.. I guess I will ditch that plan then and just buy them.

 

 

 

But would this method be the best way? Straight up planks.

 

 

 

I don't remember, but I think I used oak logs and got my servant to bank and then plank. Which would be more cost effective? Would it even out do you think or would I save some money?

You would max out combat before you got enough planks for 80 ;)

 

 

 

The positive side is that you would get great combat xp for an afk monster.

 

The negative side is it will stop being afk if you pick up each and every stackable item.

Your looking at about 80 to 100 oak planks per hour depending on luck.

 

So that's about 128 to 153 hours.

 

At your stats is about 70k+ per hour combat exp so you'd net at least 9m combat exp.

Ok nevermind I thought it would be a lot easier than that. I'd like to get the SC hammers, planks, and finish 80 within 5 days so I guess I'll just buy my planks and make money later to make up for it. But thank you all for your help :)
