GordanFreeman
For those of you that ever play with a slide, which tuning do you usually play in, or find to be easier? I've only tried standard and open d so far, and I can get some nice blues licks and things of the sort out of that, but I'd definitely like something a bit different to play around with. Just tune the guitar to your favourite chords and play around. It's nice to try minor chords when using an open tuning. La lune ne garde aucune rancune. i_love_burritos
Do pinch harmonics work on a clean/almost clean setting or does it have to be completely distorted? You should probably have "almost clean" in this case, but yeah, it works on clean as well. It just sounds a lot "more" when it's distorted. I had problem with pinched harmonics in the beginning too, just keep practicing. And like someone else said, dig deep with your plectrum and thumb when doing them. Are you supposed to put your pick on a slight angle when picking a pinch harmonic? Because I tend to turn my hand slightly to the right more when I'm picking it, so I'm basically picking with the pick 'sideways' instead of picking normally. (uhhh hope that made some sense...) Or are you supposed to pick like normal? Adrenal hasn't posted in this thread :P Hey ! What's going on here ! I accidentally came to this thread, because lateralus posted something. Then I saw the thing with my name. ! I don't know anything about guitars, but if you want to know anything about drums - I'm your guy !
