I remember around those levels carved/reg oak tables and benches as well as oak larders are good exp. Are you starting out from lvl one or some other lvl?

Just make everything you can, buying the new rooms when they become available and creating all the furniture within them. When you can begin to use oak planks they give the best xp/per gp.

Exactly right, except don't build the rooms until you are 1-2 levels above their req's, so you can actually build stuff in them,

Go play some stealing creation if you can. Buy morphic tools and make clay hammers with them. The hammers will double your exp. This might well be a bit slower for construction because of time spent on stealing creation, but the point here is not speed but cheep xp. Basicly if you get double xp with a hammer, you only have to buy half as much (actualy buy a bit more, I always come up short when I buy half of what I normally need).
