well I quickly made another sketch in pixel, like 2 mins or something doing it and I just decided to try colour it in using photoshop like tttia does.. I wouldn't say it was a good drawing cus it was rushed and its honestly a first colouring it in like that so really im just wonderin what yall think about it..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I dun think I did the party hat very well, the armour could be better and parts of the face could be improved too.. I couldn't be bothered doing a background cus I was too concerned of always painting onto the character, too fidgetty :P . He's wearing full rune, a blu party hat, cape and has a iron woodcutting axe out of his backpack (inventory?!?).. just if neone askes, yeah the phat looks very light to be blue and too blue to be white.. wteva. :D

if you ddin't use much AA you can always pick it up with the magic wand tool and put it into the top layer even now.

My crits will just revolve around what he's wearing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Firstly, the shoulder plates. There should be some indication as to how they attach to the armour, and you could probably get away with making them a little more metallic.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now, the space between the neck and the breastplate. You could colour it brown or anything else to illustrate that he wears some sort of padding between his skin and armour, since plate mail doesn't exactly fit like a jumper.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then, the breasplate itself. You shouldn't emphasize the pectorals here. Keep the breastplate smooth, because it's supposed to deflect blows rather than show the ladies how buff you are. Same goes with the abs if you ever shift the focus down there. This is the key failing of a lot of people, I think.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Technique-wise, you could emphasize the curve between the axe haft and blade a little more. It looks rather flat, and you can only see the curve on close inspection.

Zonorhc I have no idea what your talkin bout but thx neway, I know theres a lot to be improved on it but I really think I did ok for a first timer, oh just to add theres no 'definate' way to draw armour.. its totally up to what the artist wants to do, doesn't have to be how you said.. and the textures are basically off the top of my head, maybe if I used any type of reference I may of been able to mimic metal better.. I prefered challenging myself on what I could to with nothin but my imagination in a limited space of time, only took like just over an hour to colour..

it looks too blurry thats why ms paint is better at shading everytime u use a brush or paint bucket more than one colour comes out my advice stick with ms paint.

well all id say is i would have to practice a few times before I could get this type of art as good as you all expect it to be, just cus u people say im good at pixeling dun mean im great at everything else art related.. I wouldn't say I like this picture either cus well iv'e only ever been pleased with my animatated work, but, I just thought it would be interesting to show you people that im not just limited to the one area of art.. I like to experiment, try new things even if the result is a failure, it's really the only way anyone gets better cus otherwise its like being able to paint the one painting really easily to perfection yet not being able to paint anything else cus you haven't done it b4..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As a result of experimenting ive come to a quick way of pixeling that works for me, I think I've finally cracked being able to draw proportioned characters, my quality is increased and most importantly I wouldn't be scared trying to do most requests cus I feel I could do them pretty confidently.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

fanzoo, people tend to like different things according to their own opinions and from tttia's work I guess I really like this art tho yeah it can be blurry in places but thats ok :D , it's nice to do other things. I might as well do more of that isometric city thing but im starting college soon and people all want work from meh :? .

I said I made the character in photoshop but I didn't want to do the background yet cus 1, I didn't know about layers (honestly I dun know much about photoshop) and 2, It was like 1am when I came to the end of this (too tired :lol: ).
