August 29, 200520 yr I'm not a big fan... but I really like(d) the song "it's a great day to be alive" by Travis Tritt. I think it's the only country song I ever liked.
August 29, 200520 yr heh, one of my friends is really, really into country and bluegrass and stuff, so i hear it all the time. gets annoying after a while. but i do like some songs, i like garth brooks (at least his old stuff, dont know if he has new stuff or not). and there are a few other songs i like, a little bit of alabama, though only like 2 of their songs ever gets played and they get old after a while.
August 29, 200520 yr Well I live in Nashville Tennessee, the country music capital of the world. I usually can't stand most of it. The occasional song is ok, but I do like bluegrass a lot. If you know crystal gayle she lives down the road from me. Like 5 houses away.
August 29, 200520 yr I'm a huge fan of country, even though I live in the birthplace of rock and roll. Garth Brooks is hard to beat, but Alan Jackson is a close second to him on my list. Lonestar, Rascal Flats, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Vince Gill - they're all good. :P Granted, I don't like the majority of modern country as much as the older stuff (but I do like it). Some of it is just too much like pop/rock for my taste. I love alot of the 90's country, and the old, classic country songs are great too, even though I hardly ever hear them anymore. Just a few of my favorite songs, in no particular order... Standing Outside the Fire - Garth Brooks Callin' Baton Rouge - Garth Brooks That Summer - Garth Brooks The Dance - Garth Brooks Don't Take the Girl - Tim McGraw It's Your Love - Tim McGraw She's Got the Rhythm, and I've Got the Blues - Alan Jackson Chasin' That Neon Rainbow - Alan Jackson Livin' on Love - Alan Jackson Amazed - Lonestar Walkin' in Memphis - Lonestar I'm Already There - Lonestar Keeper of the Stars - Tracy Byrd Every Light in the House is On - Trace Adkins Don't Happen Twice - Kenny Chesney Sold - John Michael Montgomery I Love The Way You Love Me - John Michael Montgomery She Don't Know She's Beautiful - Sammy Kershaw It's a Great Day To Be Alive - Travis Tritt Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus The Devil Went Down To Georgia - The Charlie Daniels Band Boy Named Sue - Johnny Cash (how can you not love this song?) Carrying Your Love With Me - George Strait Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man - Conway Twitty & Loretta Lynn Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On -- Mel McDaniel Boot Scootin' Boogie -- Brooks & Dunn Mountain Music -- Alabama Ok, I know I said "a few", but I got carried away. xD "In so far as I am Man I am the chief of creatures. In so far as I am a man I am the chief of sinners." - G.K. Chesterton
August 29, 200520 yr Garth Brooks is hard to beat, but Alan Jackson is a close second to him on my list. the first and only cassete tape i bought was an alan jackson one, i liked his old stuff too :D
August 29, 200520 yr Walking in memphis is wickid, though thats about as far as my knowledge of country goes.
August 30, 200520 yr Is the band The Corrs considered Country? I like their song Radio and a few more. Also, my dad listens to Kenny Rogers so I know a few that I sing to karaoke every now and then  :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
August 30, 200520 yr To be honest I find most of it pretty insipid and lame.. but there are a couple songs I like, and one of my favorite bands is sort of a vaguely bluegrass-esque folk group..
August 30, 200520 yr Eh. I'm not really into Country since I'm into heavy metal and etc, but I do like Johnny Cash. And I like some folk music.. Like Jefferson Airplane, which is folk/psychidelic. Ehhh. It really has
August 30, 200520 yr I'm a big Country fan. Grew up on it here in South Carolina and its all i've known my whole 19 years. Don't get me wrong, i still enjoy some of my classic rock. I think Astralinre's list is close to perfect. To add a few more i enjoy: Garth Brooks - Calling Baton Rouge Garth Brooks - The River Alan Jackson - Drive Alan Jackson - Little Bitty Alabama - Song of the South Alabama - 18 wheeler Alabama - Born Country Alabama - High Cotton Alabama - If You're Gonna play in Texas Alabama - I'm in a hurry Clint Black - Desprado Some of the newer aged favorites: Rascal Flatts - Bless the Broken Road Kenny Chesney - Keg in the Closet Buddy Jewel - Sweet Southern Comfort Faith Hill - Mississippi Girl Gary Allen - Songs about rain Ok i got carried away too ;) I like various other songs by these artists too. Gotta have some Willie Nelson, George Strait, Hank Williams Jr, and Waylon Jennings in there somewhere. I was there when Garth and Alan Jackson started, and listened ever since. And Alabama is the greatest Country group of all time, if you don't believe me check their record sales. ;)
