Dead00Eyes
One thing i have been thinking about for some time is that when mining an ore, a person should be able to mine it without some other higher lvl miner come and steal all of the ores over and over and call u a noob. I.e., like fighting in a non milti combat area, only one person can mine an ore at a time. I know there r some problems with this, but maybe something could be made, like MULTI MINING AREAS. that way, where thers runite or coal in a competative area, the person with the fastest conection wont always win, or the person with a slow connection could mine without fear of loosing every time. Bubsa
A bit like mining in RSC, the rock didn't disappear instantly allowing others to mine it as well. I do like the idea, there would be far less complaining and ultimately less rule breaking via less abuse or temptation to auto. The rocks need a revamp to for a higher chance of others to mine it simultaneously. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. Raichase
I remember the painful mining days of RSC, where you had to "use pickaxe with rock" and it would mine... That was back when the ore didn't show at all, and you just had to keep trying till you got it. Then they made it one click to hit the rock, which was a vast improvement, but which led to people sitting around, clicking on a rock so many times their fingers would fall off. Then we scored the fatigue system, with the coloured rocks... Now we have the current system, which is excellent, but still prone to flaws. I agree with you, if there is some bloke power mining iron at varrock, and I show up to mine, we shouldn't have to go two each. Perhaps keep the ore in a rock until two players have got it? Or, have two ores in each rock? I don't know, I'm just throwing ideas onto the floor. Certainly seems something worth discussing anyway, as long as it doesn't make mining overly simlpistic, or more prone to autoing. Raichase, quit Runescape. Time issues really, nothing against the game itself. Something had to go, and it happened to be the addictive game that costs money to enjoy :) Best of luck to all of my friends here! Genesiss
Or, have two ores in each rock? 2 ores in 1 rock wouldnt solve the problem. they can mine 2 ores out of 1 rock so their mining goes even faster cuz all the lower levels still cant get the ores than. i have no idea how the problem could be solved but i do like ur idea "Perhaps keep the ore in a rock until two players have got it?" but i think thats really hard 2 make.. archimage_a
What about a farming setup with everyone having there own rock... Its just a though not some sort of demand http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts. Gah, remember hard rocks and soft rocks :P The current system is the best but what I mean is the ore won't disappear so quickly. You've all seen the guy with the rune pick mining iron, one click and it's gone. While s/he should still be able to do that, it should also accomodate for others to have the remotest chance. It's all down to one's pid currently. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Outsanity
Lol...this is exactly the reason why after I got members, I trained runecrafting to get my money and ditched mining entirely. :? |2,300+ Total|138 Combat|12 Lvl 99 Skills|99 Slayer|
Raichase
Gah, remember hard rocks and soft rocks :P The current system is the best but what I mean is the ore won't disappear so quickly. I must admit, Runescape is the only place I have seen a "soft rock" :). The bit about the ore taking longer to dissapear is kinda what I was talking about when I talked about there being two ores in the rock. I guess it worded it wrong. What I mean is, there are two ores in the rock, but each player can only get it once. E.g. I mine the rock out, the ore will vanish for me, but it is still up for grabs for one more person to get. I guess there is no simple solution though, or it would have been implemented by now... Raichase, quit Runescape. Time issues really, nothing against the game itself. archimage_a
There is a simply soloution but because so many people use mining its silly to make it easier. That would be a farming type thing-everyone has there own rock, or infinite rocks-Guess. The problems would be the huge number of re that jagex would release to stop autos, and make it harder to get the ore out of the rock http://www.uzzisoft..../archimage.jpegWell I knew you wouldn't agree. Eng
i like the mining system the way it is, if its to hard to mine because ppl have higher mining than u than go somewhere else thats what i did now i have rune pick and high mining and i get all the ore

Raichase
Actually, having read some good posts on mining in the help and advice board, I retract my comments. I think mining is fine the way it is, people just need to find the best mining spot. And as has already been said in the H&A forum, the best mining spot may not be the closest to the bank :). Raichase, quit Runescape. Time issues really, nothing against the game itself. Something had to go, and it happened to be the addictive game that costs money to enjoy :) Best of luck to all of my friends here!

Valkor
well, the only thing that should ever be changed is to make mining levels really do matter. because mining levels don't matter for coals and better. you just have to be patient and fight over the rocks. E_D_G_E_1039
Yea. On my old character I got to 92 mining, without people complaining about me, or calling me an ore stealer. If jagex would just let more then one person get the ore from each rock, like they used to (yes, I know its been mentioned, dont tell me, since I know). It would make the game a lot better, or at least the mining part.
