MC is preferable because it's an infinite 3d world, which is easy to get into. Wheras Dwarf Fortress is awkward, being ASCII, 2d, and from what I can tell, difficult to get into. You transverse Z-levels with > and < when in fortress mode, and by walking onto ramps while in adventurer mode. But whatever, suit yourself with your E-Legos.
