oh lawd this summer will be great

I share a sick sense of humor with a few others in my yearbook class. A couple girls have been bringing their chicks into yearbook ecause that class is the most amazing class ever, and we've been making mean jokes about the chicks. Today our joke was one we mentioned briefly yesterday. Several of us ate fats food McDonald's today. The guy who brought us our food ate mcnuggets, so he saved the container as it had been mentioned yesterday that it'd make a great bed for one of the chicks. I had a mcchicken, so I folded the wrapper and gave it to the guy. As one of the girls with chicks walked in, he held out the box and said obnoxiously that he had a bed for the chicks. She refused to acknowledge him.

Heh. That's funny.

I considered college, then I realized i didn't want to cost my loved ones large amounts of money they don't have to let me live off them for a few more years and get me a degree that will likely just get me a job at McDonalds in the current economy.

Which is what a lot of people in my school fail to understand. It's a lot like this

"OH GOD GOTTA GO INTO COLLEGE RIGHT AFTER HIGH SCHOOL AND START SUCKING ON THE GOVERNMENT'S [bleep] FOR MONEY SO I CAN GO TO SCHOOL FOR THREE/FOUR MORE YEARS SO I CAN TOTALLY GET THAT DREAM JOB THAT I WILL CERTAINLY GET."

 

Nope.

Sheep, the whole lot of 'em I say.

This is why we go to college early - so we can skip all the unnecessary high school nonsense and just get on with the relevant stuff. Because if a college degree's only going to get you a job at McD's, what's a highschool diploma or equivalent gonna get you?

The same job at McD's.

A school friend asked where my best friend is going to college next year, I said she isn't going and the school friend gave me this look like whut. Really, college isn't the only path, and if you don't know where you want to end up, stay off that path. Best friend is gonna continue working and figure out what she wants to do. Perfectly fine. Her brother isn't in college, he's in the national guard and works and he's alright. People just gotta see dem options.

 

Plus, with the armed forces paths, if you end up wanting college you can get it.
